You receive compliments for a T-shirt?
I have no further questions, but I would like to recommend something to you.
Look into something called a dot, it is used in english to end sentences. It will really help you out in future questions.

You only provided enough information for speculation, not a truly definitive answer. That would require a full study by a team of psychologists/sociologists. Just wanted to point that out.
A fair Speculation would be, that people in hard times (thus the poor neighborhoods, and often blacks are poor, not to be racist, just a fact) tend to turn to either religion or drugs. So, in such a neighborhood, they may be angered at the fact that you are attacking their sense of emotional security.
Again speculation.
At the other side, the more wealthy people may be more likely to be athiests. This has a fair reason. Religious people are Supposed to be bound by rules, they don't always listen, but the majority do. Athiests are Not bound by those rules, the majority are still alright (and many good) but more are not so good.
It's a fact that the greedy obtain weathy, the power hungry attain power. Generally, what you seek, you shall find, depending on your dedication to the goal. It may include stealing, lying, bending the rules... salesmen, for instance, are very well known for being mass deceivers for money.
Because of these leanings (not standards, just the statistics Leans in favor of these things), I can see how your experience could have happened.
Again, tis only speculation. But, it could well be opposite in other places. You probably just noticed that because of your own preconceptions.
Like in a psychology test they did back when racism was very prominent. They showed 2 pics: 1 white guy with a knife, then 1 black guy with a hat, same pose. 2 weeks later, 90% (I think) remembered the black guy holding the knife, the white guy holding the hat. It was used to diminish the value of eye witnesses, but the point applies. If preconceived notions can actually change your memory of an event, then so could events that line up with your preconceptions stick out in your mind.

Because people in bad neighborhoods need God more. God is their main connection to hope.
Where as in good neighborhoods people have more choice about where they place their faith.. ie money, parents, statistics, etc... Plus God may represent repression to those who are already safe and enjoying safe promising futures.
Just a guess really.
Please don't tell the oppressed that God is dead, you will destroy them. He may be what they feel is their only hope.

The people in the "good" neighborhood probly have much better lives, so they feel no need for God. They are full of them selves. The "bad 'hood" people have harder lives and rely on God. They are not spoiled.

ur kidding right? There are churches in every neighbourhood. Moreso believers of the faith don't need a building in which to praise. Finally, where are christians needed more? In the neighbourhoods where people flaunt their prosperity and live in lives of relative bliss or in the neighbourhoods plagued with crime, poverty and despair. Christ did not associate with the healthy but the sick. He associated himself with the drug dealing , gang banging, sexually immoral people of his day and instructs that is where we are to be...with the people who need us.

"Peaceful" neighborhoods have more polite people. So even if 80% of them disagreed with you, they wouldn't cause a scene, or give a blatant dirty look.
In bad violent neighborhoods, people give dirty looks and makes scenes for all sorts of reasons.

Well, I live in a poor area, and I'm not religious.
But it does seem that poor neighborhoods do use God as a sense of security.
