That depends very much on your lifestyle and metabolic rate and can vary enormously.

If your lifestyle is very sedentary and you don't exercise you might burn up less than 2,000 calories a day.

If your lifestyle is that of a body builder and you spend a lot of time every day in the gymn lifting heavy weights or if you are a professional athlete or professional swimmer you might burn up 4,000 calories a day or even more.
