Alcoholism pretty much runs on both sides of the family. I started drinking heavily when I was of age, and just kept on...for a while, anyway. I'd go out and drink almost every single night, and at times it was the only thing that I could find any happiness in. Finally I decided that wasn't the life I wanted. Every now and then I'll have a couple of beers at a get together with my friends, or a glass of red wine here and there, but other than that I just don't want to kill any more brain cells!

I don't drink much anymore, because i was starting to become depressed wehn i got drunk. it wasn't worth it. If you're an alcoholic i can't really help, but if you just want to cut back and look after yourself better then i might be able to.

First you have to realise that you're still fun, and interesting and awesome when you're not drunk, that you don't need alcohol to have a good time. Volunteer to designated drive, you have the responsibility not only for your safety but for others' aswell, so you wont feel tempted. Also if you feel awkward then carry a drink with you like a bottle of water or soft drink, so you don't feel like you stand out.
