I live in Canada, not as far north as you,but climate change
is clearly evident here. Tonight, the first of November,it was
warm and muggy out. We had to open the screen door to
air the place out. That never happened before this time of
year as far as I remember and I'm middle-aged.
A couple of weeks ago we had a hot and sunny day,25'C,
somewhere in the mid-seventies by the Fahrenheit scale.
That never happens in October-it's summer weather,or it used
to be.
I agree, global warming is getting worse. Ignore the nay-sayers,including those above. They won't be convinced
until there's absolutely no room for doubt. Then they'll shrug, with blank looks on their faces, and say:"How were we
supposed to know?"
Even the Bush Administration has begun to acknowledge the reality of global warming, but some people are confused
by facts.

We know from the latest observations that the planet is warming up at an ever increasing rate, we don't need to look at anything more than the temperature record to see this.
It's also warming slightly faster than had previously been expected (now 0.0177°C per year, had been 0.0156°C per year).
This year has seen some very unusual events taking place in and close to the Arctic region. The Arctic ice receded more than it ever had and for the first time there is conclusive evidence that the polar bear populations are now being affected by global warming. It's also in this region that the greatest rise in temperatures have been recorded and millions of square kilometres of land that should be frozen have either melted or failed to refreeze. Sounds like you may be on one of those areas.
The sinking island may be caused by other factors, more to do with the geology of the area rather than global warming and almost certainly if the island is in a lake as opposed to the open ocean. Globally sea levels are currently rising by ⅛ inch each year, at this rate it would take nearly 300 years for an island to 'sink' by 3 feet.

Somehow I think in about a month a two you are going to be wishing it was a little warmer. Global warming will be a huge benefit to Alaska. Just hope the warming trend continues. Anchorage is a lot like Seattle, only a little colder.

Yes it is getting bad.. Here in Singapore, we're getting more rain, but also longer periods of dry weather.
Ahh, don't listen to those who say it's a natural cycle. Thousands of years ago, there weren't 6.5 billion people on this planet. We're dumping so much CO2 into the atmosphere now, it's getting too alarming. And Arctic ice melt is now 30 years ahead of schedule. How scary is that?
Seriously, I hate to use the word scared

The data indicates that global warming has leveled off.

It could start again, but more than likely it will begin cooling, and life will get much worse, thats what has generally happened in the past.

Hopefully, the warm weather will continue, otherwise the mice may end up running the world.

Global warming is a Hoax! Think about it, after the Ice Age what happened? Global warming, not caused by man, but a normal cycle of climate change.

Global Warming? What a joke
It's a natural earth cycle. 20 years ago they said we were going into an ice age. Time Life books even made an entire book about it. Iceand was named in the Viking days it's all green. Greenland was named at the same time and it now has Ice all over. Makes you go HMMMMMMMMMMMM. Oh yea the world is not flat.

Global warming is getting bad. Some placees its worse then others. Though, global warming is normal. it isn't man made. we are just making it happen sooner then it usually does.

It's a self-correcting problem.
People think they know the answers. We don't. We don't have the data. However, if we over-fish, over-hunt, over-kill the forests, etc., we would eventually tip the scale to cause worldwide famine and start huge pandemics that wipes out most of us. Self-correcting...
And you thought Mad Max movies were cool. If you have to live like Max, it isn't cool anymore...

Personally I like the warmer winters. If the islands sink, move inland.
