Mix about 1/3 peanut butter when you're melting the lard and as it cools add the seeds of your birds choices. After refrigerating or freezing put them in chunks of fishnet stocking or onion sacking from the market, so they're easy to hang. Boy, there's a visual, "Fat buttery balls, hanging in fishnet stockings, hung in a tree". RScott

No such thing as *male* hemp seeds. Take the *female* hemp seeds and mix them up in the lard balls, add jelly babies and vegetarian dried worms, season to taste. Make a nice firm ball out of these ingredients. Let dry in the sun for a day until hard. Be sure you have plenty of extra balls, since you cannot possibly hit a bird with each throw.

Suet is good for the winter birdies. Lard and crushed seeds is what I use. I let it cool then freeze small portions in sandwich bags...

Are you experimenting with avian dna again? Do not give them fat balls Moley, it throws off their balance when they are perching on high tension wires. Haven't you learned anything from the elephant disaster of 2003? What about Project Penfold? *sighs*
