Also, for the one below me who said it has been around the longest... get a clue, Religion has been around since cave men were worshipping snakes and other animals.

Christianity is the largest religion in the world and is also the fastest growing (particularly Roman Catholicism). People think its Islam, but Christianity is growing faster.
worldwide there are: 2.1 billion Christians, 1.1 billion Muslims. 1 billion atheists/agnostics, 800 million hindus, 300 million buddhists, 300 million pagans, 13 million Jews.

Catholics are the largest at almost two billion with Buddhism as the runner-up and Islam making strong and rapid gains from a number three slot. Nobody knows what the oldest religion is - most people assume Hinduism in some ancient,long-forgotten form bearing little resemblance to it as currently practiced. Probably some Indo-Aryan religion from before recorded history.
