"So if we don't choose God & accept Jesus as our Savior we're bound to hell?"
- This is one position on salvation, and Arminian belief will affirm this to be true. Calvinism will deny it since we are born "totally depraved" -- that is, unable to look to God for salvation of our own ability. This gives us plenty of free will to move away from God, never toward Him.
"Why would God send us to hell?"
- What a terrible, mean God -- that's how atheists look at it. To Arminians, He is sad to send us to Hell. To the Calvinists, he is glorified in doing so. How can He be glorified? This is God's justice for a mankind that does not seek Him, and has not sought Him out from the time of Adam. Shame on US, not shame on God.
"Religion is basically blind faith."
- Not necessarily. Christianity can be deduced philosophically, and in my opinion it carries more logic than atheism. We can also logically differentiate ourselves from other religions and provide evidence for our beliefs readily enough.
"There are so many different religions. Why is it our fault if we just weren't sure what to believe?"
- Here again, the Arminians will offer the threat of Hell vs. the promise of Heaven, which amounts to a game with extremely high stakes. If you've ever seen a Chick publication, you'll know what I mean. They put God on a menu, with your conscience asking you what you will be having today. Of course you can refuse your selection at any time and walk out of the restaurant, but you can come back whenever you're hungry of course. Just be in the restaurant when you die.
Calvinism denies the restaurant being available to anyone who does not have an invitation in the first place. Faith is given, not taken, by a loving God who knew you from before the foundations of the world were laid. Salvation starts and ends with God, not you! I think it's kinda cool to realize that by the time you've repented, the Lord had been holding you in His arms all along -- and you just didn't know you were already in the restaurant.

Yes, but God does not send anyone to Hell a person's sin sends them to Hell. Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God". And Romans 6: 23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life". Also God has given us a way out Romans 5:8 " But God loved us so much, that while we were still sinners He sent Jesus to die for us". The truth has been set before you the choice is yours what do you choose? Will you accept Him and His gift of life or will turn away His free gift and go to Hell?

If God offers you His gift of salvation & you reject it, what do you expect Him to do?
Yes, belief in Him does take faith, but accepting Him into your life is something you will never regret.
Yes, there are many different religions, but forget about that & focus on one thing - Jesus. He is the only way ("I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except by me." ~John 14:6)
God is not interested in you having a "religion"; He wants a RELATIONSHIP with you.
**EDIT: I know you said you just aren't sure, but to NOT accept Him is equal to rejecting Him.

Yes, if you reject Jesus as Lord and savior, the only eternal destination is the lake of fire.
The truth is, God doesn't send anyone to hell. A person, by their choice to not accept Jesus as Lord, chooses eternal damnation and punishment. God placed the choice squarely in each of our hands to do with it what we will.
A friend of mine once said, "Make a decision, before one is made for you".
Those who end up in hell will do so because they waited too late to make up their minds, or they choose badly. for those who would like to explore whether or not there is something to be found in Christianity, look for what is good and right about living a life in Christ and for him, not at what the Christians are doing. They are people, and subject to the same dumb mistake they made before they were saved, or new ones if they don't obey God, unfortunately.
One of my favorite quotes from a book by Pastor Charles Swindoll* (sorry I don't remember the title) is:
"Christians aren't perfect. Just forgiven."
On the subject of religion, it isn't really blind faith, because you cannot really receive Christ as your personal savior unless you are sincere when you ask him; this can't be done blindly because Jesus knows if you are insincere, or wavering, unsure, or if all of your family members accepted him and you don't want to be left out. Or any other reasons that don't include genuinely accepting him.
You accept Christ as Lord and Savior because you know that you are a sinner and that the only way to permanently have your sin erased is by accepting him. You KNOW (believe) he is the only begotten Son of God, that he died on the cross to save you from your sins, that he rose on the third day, and that you wholeheartedly beyond a shadow of a doubt accept him as Lord of your life, and savior of your soul.
Essentially, there is way too much to think about before a person accepts Christ to do so blindly, because God can't be fooled. Even if the only thing you think about is "Am I REALLY sincere about this?"
Also, being a Christian shouldn't really be a matter of religion, it should be a matter of faith. God isn't religious. Life in Christ isn't "about religion, it's about a relationship" -- (quote from Pastor Earl Granberry).
If you aren't sure what to believe, tell God. Ask him to help you figure out what to do. and while it may not be your fault if you aren't sure what to believe it is your fault if you don't make a decision before it's all over but the shouting.
I hope I helped. God bless you.

Your question is one of the big ones that started me down the road of rejecting all religions. It simply doesn't make sense. This stuff was all made up to ensure money and power for the church.
Think of all the people throughout history that never had a chance to hear one word about Jesus, and we are expected to believe that they all went to hell. Where is the justice or logic in that moronic line of thinking. Due to recent drop in church membership and dues, the burn in hell message has been toned down considerably.

that is correct -- HEaven is of God and Jesus -- if you reject them, you reject heaven. the choise is yours.
God doesn't send us - we choose for ourselves
religion is not blind faith - once you understand faith - you will find it is far from blind.
you need to learn and understand and then you will believe. you have a brain and a mind to evaluatede. you have a heart to feel and love -- with the proper concern over the question - you can and will find the asnwer.
I don't understand how you can believe in heaven and hell when you don't believe in Jesus or God?! Those "places" go hand in hand. if you have a concept of them - you've already opened your mind to God and Jesus - you just need to keep learning.
God bless you in your journey!

Gods will for us is not to go to hell...He delights in His children but the word "will" means created us to go there or intended us to go to hell. Hell first of all IS NOT created for us that is why when the body is transfigured to go either place Heaven it will be more awesome than anyone in the flesh is intended to know but is set up as the REWARD or as Paul said the PRIZE you win after the race...which means to get to heaven there is work to be done in OBEDIENCE. Hell is for the rebellious slothful worker of iniquity a child of God who refused to take all the wonderful gifts He offers..hell Bound souls once in hell will feel no sense of hope because of total and utter and ETERNAL separation from his grace and are sentenced to dwell in a place of wrath which is opposite of heaven as the most HORRIBLE place you can imagine. Hell was designed for the devils and his angels no us..
God reveals himself to all..there is something inside of your soul that wanted to ask this question..Behold He knocks read john 3:16 learn what love is all about.

You have every opportunity to learn what to believe in, and what not, but don't take just anything that comes along. accept Jesus as your savior, read His Word, and pray for Him to show you the way, and he will. Get active in a good church, and you'll learn. Just remember, that if you go to hell, it will be by your choice. For all eternity, you'll remember it. You'll remember," I had a choice, why didn't I chose Christ."

Being uncertain and rejecting God are two different things; related, yes, but different.
Part of growing in faith is seeking the truth. God is patient and has and endless amount of mercy. He is the perfect gentleman, so to speak. He is not going to force Himself onto anyone or force them to spend eternity in Heaven if they don't want to. If you are truly searching for truth and are confused along the way, He will guide you along patiently and kindly, and in all goodness, but only if you allow Him to. He is waiting to be asked.

Contrary to popular christian sanitization of the Gospel, God does send people to hell.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Notice they do not "jump" into hell, they are "cast" there.
Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
This is Jesus Christ Himself SENDING people to hell.
So, my fellow, well intentioned brothers in Christ, please stop apologizing for God. He DOES send people to hell. That it the reason that we are to "warn every man". We are to "persuade men" Why? Because we "know the terror of the Lord".
That being said, the reason God sends people to hell is because of their sin. Regardless of what you believe, if you have lied, stolen, or used God;s name in vain even once the Bible makes it clear that you will end up in hell.
That is why God became a man, Jesus Christ. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross to take the punishment for YOUR sins, then rose from the dead. There is no other way to have your sins forgiven. God commands you to repent, and believe the Gospel.
