While ago a deer ran out in front of me and caused a bit of damage to my 2002 Toyota Camry. Although the damage doesn't appear to be too bad, (hood and bumper are bent, and the right headlight is a bit out of place though it still works fine, car drives fine) I didn't have my cell phone so I had to drive back home (not very far) from where the incident happen.

1. Will the insurance still pay because I left the scene? (I wasn't speeding, had my headlights on, and our seatbelts)

2. Will my insurance rates go up? (The damage can't be over $2000, so I can just pay that huge bill once, but that higher insurance will haunt me forever)

3. Will this go on my driving record? (The car is still very drivable and neither me nor my passenger were injured in any way). (I did not get a police report, at least not yet)

NO OTHER ACCIDENTS ARE ON MY DRIVING RECORD

Another question, even if the insurance doesn't go up, will this prevent it from going down in the future? (I'm age 20, so it's supposed to drop a bit in the next few years)

1. This would be covered under COMP(comprehensive) coverage for impact with an animal. You should not be penalized in any way for going home and leaving the scene for this type of accident. If you have COMP coverage, then you will get paid minus your deductable. This is not considered a COLL(collision accident)
2. It is hard to say if your rates will go up as each company is different. Comprehensive coverage is considered a non-fault coverage(the same coverage that pays for hail damage and other things beyond your control). Usualy a comprehensive claim will not change your rates unless this starts happening more often. This is becuase the nature of the coverage(non-fault, act of god, beyond your control)
3. If you don't report it to thepolice it won't go on your state record(a police report does not appear to be required unless you damaged other property than your own). Anything you report to an insurance company will show up on a CLUE or ISO report. This report will show the accident date, coverage used(comprehensive) and other items.

You last question I can't say, it is up to your company.
Since this is a comprensive claim, I would file it with your insurance company to handle

1) Yes. This is a comprehensive claim.
2) Depends on the underwriting policies of your insurer but most larger companies don't raise rates on comp losses unless you have a LOT of them. Even if your rates go up I doubt they would EVER rise enough to offset $2,000 you would pay out-of-pocket. Most companies lower your rates after a couple years after an incident anyway...
3) Yes. No need for a police report.

Your insurance company will pay, if you carry collision coverage. Since no accident report has been filed, it won't appear on your driving license. Insurance rates may go up, depending on what your license looks like now, and if you have other accidents on record. I wouldn't expect your rates to go up much, a few dollars probably.

its hard to say if they will pay, I assume so if you have full coverage, but is it really worth it to claim it? You rates will increase because they always raise the rates for an accident.
If you could I wouldn't claim on it but take care of the damage yourself...jmo
