how can i distribute my songs i have wrote on the net to sell?

i have recorded 10 tracks that are my own songs and instead of getting involved with the industry i would like to sell them and promote them myself how would i do this are there any places i could visit on the web to find out any information would be great ive tried my space it wont let me upload my songs to my profile because the songs are audio and not mp3

The audio format is not important as you can easily convert from any number of formats to MP3. Your main concern will be restricting the content distribution -- look into digital rights management or if you are not so concerned with protecting your intellectual property you can go with Myspace or another public site like YouTube.

there are 1000s of struggling singer/songwriters on the web and elsewhere trying to make money and some of them are with good promoter/managers and they are'nt rich yet what is so unique about your stuff that you think anyone would pay for it?
if you could sell music that easily everyone would be doing it. plus if you put it on the web in mp3 form don't be suprised when you see it being released by some one else provided it's good enough.

i advise you convert all audio files to mp3 its a standard on the internet. also to promote yourself id use your own personal website i advise you have this created yourself and uploaded onto a server however you can use tripod.com or freewebs to create small websites. you could also use youtube,stage6,veoh,and megavideo to promote yourself. use some of your music in the background of a video include maybe some album art fading into other images of you maybe. try not to have one track playing through the video use multiple tracks to show the range of yuor talent.
