Please don't get me wrong. I'm fully against illegal immigration, it does nothing but cause trouble and place a heavy burden on the shoulders of citizens. But seriosly, there's only so much WE can do to fix the problem. If we really want to see a secure border and the laws enforced, it's ultimately up to the government to do that. Unfortunately, Big Brother has no interest in doing we want. (If they did, those borders would have been locked down a long time ago)

Republicans, backed by big business, see illegals as a source of cheap labor, while Democrats see them as potential voters. So either way, were screwed! All the Presidential frontrunners of both parties I see have pro-illegal leanings, the only politicians I see that are really anti-illegal are Tom Tancredo, Ron Paul, and Duncan Hunter (all of whom have slim chances of winning the race)

I don't know. I'm trying to be optimistic but at the same time I don't see us coming any closer to meeting our goals.

i believe it will happen and soon. the attached article shows a change in the wind. too many u.s. citizens are opposed to amnesty and the continued presence of illegal aliens. "Missouri's efforts are among several now being seen around the nation as state and local officials race to make their territory as unappealing as possible for the nation's estimated 12 million undocumented individuals". brightened my day.

Borders are not natural entities rather they are man made -- negotiated and created by wealthy individuals. The purpose of borders is to create spheres of economic influence for differing factions of capitalists and to keep the slaves on the plantations. Investigate how difficult it is for an average person to move to another country and get a job and you'll see what I mean. It is quite difficult; and for the majority of the working class, it is totally impossible. Of course, the capitalists in developed nations are always more than willing to allow a percentage of desperate workers to illegally drift accross the border in order to repress wages and supply cheaper labor than is legally possible.

Hillary and Bush are on the same page when it comes to our borders, so yes nothing will be done. I wouldn't surprised if we became an open borders country in the near future.

No....they were never truly enforced anyway. With all the money involved, count on it NOT being dealt with.

Anyway, its too late...the country is already owned by Mexico and China....follow the money honey.

Yep.

(BTW, fringe candidates don't have 'slim' chances of winning, they have no chance at all, they're only in the primary circus to get some fringe voters on board the mainstream campaign that follows.)

Sadly you are probably right.
It would take someone somewhere in government to represent his or her constituents instead of themselves, before anything will happen.
