I believe so.

Yes, an all-powerful cosmic intelligence that stands outside of space and time, what we call "God," does exist.

Despite what some atheists claim, in our experience nothing happens without a cause. The existence of a rational, ordered world suggests the existence of an intelligent creator. Attempts to explain the intricacies of life due to random acts of natural selection are unconvincing, especially on the cosmic scale.

Also, we sense the existence of a cosmic intelligence in the very actions and activities of our own minds. The very act of questioning the existence of God reveals dimensions to life far beyond the narrow reductionism proposed by natural science (all that is real is what can be measured).

Over the past millenium, there has been a continuing debate among philosophers and natural theologians over this question. There have been many 'proofs', or lines of argument attempting to assert God's existence, but there have also been many refutations of such arguments. Most philosophers now agree that there can be no way of either proving or disproving the existence of God using reason alone. People who believe in God know that it is a matter of faith, not reason, and those thinkers who acknowledge the value of faith in such matters are called 'fideists'. We believe that reason is not only inadequate when it comes to the question of God's existence, but that it is irrelevant.

Here's the deal. There is not, nor will there ever be PROOF that there is a God. So, scientifically speaking, there is no debate about this. But that doesn't mean someone shouldn't believe in God. It also doesn't meant that God doesn't actually exist. People say there is no evidence. This of course is not true. If there is a God, the entire Earth is evidence of His existence as are all the stars of the universe. What they probably mean is that there is no PROOF of God's existence, ehich as I have already said is true.

Also, it is normal for someone that has been raised to believe in God to come to a crossroads in their life when they get to that certain level of maturity to question the existence of God. That is normal. What you have to ask yourself is, is worth the risk? You could live your life like there is no God, lots of very nice, wonderful people do. But what if they're wrong? If there is a God, we will all have to answer to Him, whether we believed in Him or not. Also, it's not like living by the principles of one that believes in God is a bad thing is it? The problem that arises, that bothers so many people that do not believe in God, and rightly so, is that poeple that believe in God sometimes DEMAND that everyone believe in God and live their life accordingly. They impose their beliefs on other people and they judge and label everyone around them according their belief system. This of course is not what God, real or not, would want of His believers.

I am well aware of the fact that there may not be a God. It very well may be that God is nothing more than a man made idea. But despite that I choose to believe that their is. That's my choice. That's what I have placed my bet on and I am not going to abandon my place at the poker table. I am going to stick around and see how it turns out. If I am right, than I will know as soon as I die.

I think God exists during life moments of great joy and great sorrow.

When an emotional need to thank something for the extreme differences between good fortune, and heartbreaking sorrow, fate and personal responsibility flies out the window, replaced by either gratitude or guilt.

The question is not whether he exists but rather whether you believe he does or not. True belief in anything not proven to exist or cease to exist makes it true to that person. So it may be obvious to one person thet God exists yet may be obvious to another that it is a totally stupid idea. Either way there is no right answer and both are equally correct.

There is no reason to believe so. Noted Catholic theologian Hans Kung examined the matter in detail [ref. 1] and correctly concluded that neither the existence nor non-existence of god could be proven on the basis of evidence or logic. (Not surprisingly, he chose to believe in such, explicityly acknowledging that it was his choice.) Although the matter cannot be proved; all of the evidence indicates that there is no such thing [ref. 2], and it is provable that a belief in any sort of god is useless: it can have no consequences in the real world. Indeed, it is counterproductive [ref. 3].

If you think god exists, then he does. If you don't think so, then he doesn't. What every you believe in exists for you.

Does God know that YOU exist? You can 'argue' the 'existence' of God forever and NEVER come up with the 'true' answer ... but I believe that God created us and our universe for a reason, but God lives in His own universe (which we call Heaven) and I am 'looking forward' to the time after I die, when I will 'be aware' of life in Heaven (and live there, although I think our universe is in Heaven's universe already) and learn 'the rest of the story' behind our creation.

people are scared of dying so they create an idea in their head to make believe that something grander is going to happen once they die.

the truth is, we're all just part of the universe and like plants, animals, planets, the sun, the galaxy we live and die.

it is silly to believe that somehow we are special or that we defy gravity, reason, and time...

here's a cool link to put life into perspective. makes you realize how insignificant our existance on earth compared to the grandness of this expanding universe is: http://school.discoveryeducation.com/schooladventures/universe/itsawesome/cosmiccalendar/page2.html
