I believe that Jesus Christ was the only begotten Son of the only true and living God. Born of Mary in Bethlehem and raised by she and Joseph in Nazareth. I believe that he was the prophesied Messiah of the Old Testament. He lived a perfect and sinless life. He taught us truth. He organized his church on the earth during his lifetime. I seek to pattern my live after his. He suffered in Gethsemane and then died on the cross so that all men may rise from the dead and be saved ONLY through his perfect, eternal, and everlasting atonement. There is no other way than through Christ. He is my Lord and my savior. I hope to learn to live my life as he lived his. I feel him close to me when I seek him and when I need him most. I love him dearly.

Am I a Christian???

O....I should mention....I'm a Mormon.

I think that your question is going to get you nothing but grief.

However I live in a town with many Mormons as well. I think that they are people with good and bad qualities like everyone else. Calling ones self Christian does not intrinsically mean that you're a good person.

I've had some rather negative experiences with Mormons lately and I'm willing to share them.

I allowed my son to attend Primary (the Mormon version of Sunday school) with his friend. Once they had my child out of ear shot, they informed him that his dad -- who he adores -- is going to Hell because he has a facial hair and earings. To top it off, they then instructed him to put his head down during prayer (not in humility) but because if his head was up demons could see his face and "get him."

Needless to say, we were not pleased.

But, that doesn't mean that they are all crazy or mean spirited like that. I think that this particular ward is just a little insane.

Sorry to offend anyone but what I've written REALLY happened and it was WRONG.

Cadisney: It DID happen. It also came to light (just so we're on the same page) that children are not indoctrinated with the truth about J. Smith until they are in high school. When my son informed his friend that your profit had almost as many wives as he did years, he got into trouble for having that information.

You may not like what I wrote but don't discredit me. I married into a Mormon family and I know more than many. It is a fact that each ward will be just a little different from another and just like many Christian churches...some are a little on the scary side.

Polygamy was a huge deal in your faith for a long time. It may be considered a sect of the church now but they got their ideas from somewhere.

I don't hate them at all, I jut think that their leaders are a bunch of corrupt, white rich liars that are trying to make the world over in their image. Their leaders are some of the richest people in the world because they make money off their followers and then act like it's an act of God. Most Mormons are loving and have wonderful families, they're great people for the most part. .

That said, everyone has a right to believe what they want and no one has a right to call their beliefs wrong. To each their own.

My absolute best friend in the world is LDS. I love him, I would die for this guy, and we've been friends for something like 14 years without a problem. We never debate beliefs, and I get along fine with his family. My horse lives in his pasture, and my mom makes this guy dinner. He and his family are great people, I have nothing against them.

I like mormons. I am one of them. You dont have any authority whatsoever to claim who is and isnt a christian.

Why does your interpretation of the Bible trump any other sects interpretation?

umm Matha
mormon clergy dont get paid
only about 13 of them are actually supported financially by church money because their service is full time and the total amount of what they get is averaged about a hundred grand, which includes the living expenses, etc
Every other clergy is made up of members of the church that hold full time jobs and dont get a dime for their church service. The reason sooo many leaders are rich is because they made their own money. Many doctors, attorneys, stock brokers, private business owners in the church that worked hard for their money and deserve it. Education and career development are important principles in our church.

Please get your facts straight before you talk about them

Lilly
I have a really really really hard time believing your story given that we dont believe in any traditional form of hell, whatsoever, but if that was the case, then you should have informed the bishop because that person shouldnt be a primary teacher anymore

Gosh so many people on their high and mighty horses proclaiming who is and isnt right. Wow I didnt realize there were so many prophets on earth today with that authority.
You dont have any more authority than you claim mormons do to proclaim who is a chrsitian and whose interpretation of the Bible is correct.

I think they are just as nice as anyone else. I personally don't believe in what they teach, but God wants us to show His love toward everyone.

I think they are hard working, sincere devout people to their religion. I do, however, believe they are lost. Due to the fact that they believe in the plurality of Gods. Plus, they believe they will be Gods someday, if they are good enough. The Bible says there is only ONE God. That there is no other God before or after him. I'll pray for you.

My Wife and I are Jehovah's Witnesses and we respectfully disagree with their beliefs.

The Apostle Paul said in scripture that we should not go beyond the things that are written. All we need today is the Bible because that is the only Book that is inspired by God.

2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

I like them, I know a lot of them also as I attend one of their wards from time to time.. I'm sure that if Jesus does exist he will appreciate you doing the judging for him, I mean you and a lot of the other anti Mormons seem to think you have the absolute authority *over* Jesus.

I have met many Mormans and found them to be polite and nice. I respect their right to their belief system, however I do disagree with many of their beliefs. I don't wish to get in to a debate on this, but that is my stance.
