I own a shop, and what I think is this; It might fix it for a while, but the end result will be, it will leak again. If you intend on getting rid of the vehicle, then try it out, and if it doesn't work then what have you got to loose? I personally have used some stuff called block seal, and it fixed a leaking head gasket, and I drove it for years after that without any problems. This was on a cast iron engine though. What happens on the Cadillac is; The heads are aluminum, and they are really bad to pit, as in aluminum's case rot out. To do the job right, one must remove the head, take it to a machine shop, and have it surfaced. To put it back you must know how much the machinist cut off of it, and use a shim to make up the difference, if it was a lot. Talk to the machinist, as he will know if you can get away with it or not.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

You can try it, but if the gasket wasn't really that important, why would they use it in the first place? I personally am a "fix it right" kind of person. And if you are going to believe everything you see on the net, you are in deep trouble!

Yeah, but they don't pay for the destroyed engine! Just replace the head gasket. Nothing will work other than doing it right.
