Tanning in the winter is wrong. Fake-baking EVER is wrong. But in the winter it's even more disguisting because come on... you can really tell it's fake.

Yes, I'm totally against tanning, especially in the winter.
It just looks so fake. Even the girls who go in the summer, they usually turn out orange. And what's wrong with being fair skinned?
I don't think they actually realize the risks of fake tanning. There are so many different types of skin cancers you can get from those tanning beds, it's disgusting. Plus, those tanning beds sort of creep me out, they remind me of coffins...

Tanning is neither right or wrong, but it's dangerous. The darkening effect on your skin is your skin's reaction to damaging radiation, and it's cumulative. That means that every dose you get puts you one step closer to skin cancer. And artificial tanning, like that done in tanning beds, is just as damaging as the sun. It turns your skin dark, doesn't it? That means it's damaging the skin.
Ever been to Florida? Ever seen the prune ladies there that have been in that sun for all of their lives? Want to look like one of them some day? Go get a tan. It's your skin, not mine.

My wife is a Dermatologist and constantly reminds patients (particularly 16-25 year-olds) that despite it's cosmetic appeal for the young, it is about the worst thing that the skin can be subjected to.
I/we personally know 40 year-olds whose faces (and who knows where else) look like leather.
Tanning should be avoided at all costs - unless you're willing to look awful as you approach middle age. A do-over at 40 or 50 can cost thousands in plastic surgery.
