In a wide open place where all our supporting weapons (close air support) and technology (UAVs, satellites, etc) would act as force multipliers. It would also help if it was far from fuel supplies, since we are better at logistics.

Depends on the tank used. Israel doesn't have the Abrams. Their tanks would likely need to be in well covered areas, or in open-areas with adequate air support. The Abrams is just the best thing in Armor Warfare. I believe it is still the only tank in the world that can fire the main cannon while moving. So the advantage to the Abrams is that is all over the place popping off shots while the bad guys have to cop a squat to squeeze off rounds. Clearly the advantage is apparent. Iran principally uses Russian equipment anyways which is faulty in numerous respects. Straight on fight with tanks between US and Israel vs. Iran and Russia...US/Israel any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Have a better, more advanced tank is called a force multiplier. Having one Abrams is the equivilent of 10 T-72s.

Well if such a war took place it would probably happen in Iraq which is pretty good for tank combat with the wide open flat plains and all, our tanks and our allies tanks would dominate the battlefield against anything the russians or iranians can deploy anyway.

according to russian military doctrine "the best tank terrain is that without anti-tank equipment" I might have paraphrased, but thats the idea.
