Ok. Well, for years now I've had a problem in which I get semmingly nourished by other peoples' anger. It's not really sadism because there's no lust or desire to it. Not only that, but I don't like pain or sorrow, yet. Just anger.

What happens is that in the mornings, I am exhausted, no matter how much I slept the night before. I drive to class and/or work, and on the way I irritate and anger as many people on the way. Everytime I do, I feel as if I just took a shot of pure caffiene.

I mean, I can possibly explain it as the process of angering gets my adrenaline flowing, and that wakes me up. But I don't really know.

It's like I'm feeding off of their anger and feeding off of the feelings it produces. I do it in the car, in person, on campus, at the store, pretty much whenever I feel drained. The problem I'm having is I can't conrtol it. It's like an instinct.

Has anyone ever heard of this before?

Mac:
I believe it's unnecissary to call it "sick." That comes down to a matter of opinion and judgement, not necissarily interest of an answer. Wether it's "Sick" or not is of no issue.

Sure ..................... I'm like that permanently too, if I'm not eating properly and ensuring I'm getting enough of the multi B complex of vitamins in my daily diet !! The B complex of vitamins are a water soluble complex and as such our bodies can neither produce or store them and we need to ingest them on a daily basis.................. when we are placed under added stress ie: new job, school studies, new home, or just life really the precious B complex of vitamin are usually the first to get used up and unless we replace them we unfortunately suffer the consequences of depression, headaches and migraines, nausea and vomiting, fatigue and exhaustion, irritability and moodines, constipation, insomnia etc.

Take a good quality B complex supplement and notice a dramatic improvement in your mood swings ........... you'll probably still be a feisty little guy though (ditto).

good luck

You made a point of explaining your feelings as not being sadism but they seem to me to be a little masochistic. You like to make others get angry at you and then enjoy the high from the adrenalin rush their anger induces in you. This is "sick" and you need psychological help to find out why it has become uncontrollable and "instinctual" (an addiction).

Why do you feel "drained" and tired after sufficient sleep? That is not normal. Many people take a while to completely wake up in the morning but to have to get an adrenalin rush to do so needs explanation. Your behavior of habitually antagonizing others is also sick. The normal feeling for others is of a feeling of well being around them and the strength of love for them. Your bad behavior toward them is a menace which may get you at least the reputation of being a grouch and maybe into trouble. Get some help!

Good luck in your relations with others, good mental health, peace and Love!

Well, it is an interesting situation. I've not heard of it before. The thing is you may push someone too far one day. It's not smart to purposely illicit anger from people. I would suggest you do some therapy to talk about and understand yourself a bit better to see if you can change your seeming addiction or compulsion for the anger response in others. It probably has to do with some unresolved issues of your past. Most things are. That and maybe find a safer outlet to receive others' "anger" like kickboxing, karate, etc.
