I've seen brands from Australia, UK and the USA, but I believe South America is the world's largest beef producer surpassing even the USA.

They got to do something with all of that beef.

2 truths everyone should know about corned beef. 1st its an irish thing. cheapest cut of beef boiled to a gelatinous stew with pepper corns then left to sit and then fried or roasted or ate cold. 2nd argentina are the worlds biggest beef cattle producers and the town of fray bentos in uraguay hence the products name as in fray bentos pies was a town set up to supply the silver miners in argentina with a steady supply of tinned ready to eat beef.

take one green cabbage,
cut up and chop roughly,
heat one tbsp of olive oil in a wok
flash fry the cabbage,
splash of worcester sauce,
take two tins of corned beef(country of origin not important.lol)
cube the beef into one inch cubes and throw into the wok,
heat till beef starts to break up,
salt & pepper to taste,
chuck on a plate and serve with chunks of fresh baked bread.
poor mans caviar YUMMY!!!!

In England we have tinned cornedbeef everywhere (My hubby calls it tramps bate)

I dunno. I buy it in North America and the one I buy says made in California. So I think you are wrong.
