It doesnt always taste like rubber if it is cooked right. Sometimes the stuff you get in those frozen seafood selection packs tastes a bit rubbery but i once had it in a restaurant and it was nice :)

I wonder myself who ever thought of eating some foods. For example who ever thought after opening a passion fruit and seeing it's contents that it may be nice, for those who have never seen the contents of the fruit it looks like someone with an extremely bad cold has blown their nose into it. Who would try that the first time? and who decided after finding some milk that had gone off that they would use it to make cheese. Gone off milk is rancid who thought of that. I'm glad they did because I do like cheese but who then thought of adding bacteria to it, it's beyond me lol
Same with squid and other sea foods who thought mmmmmm they might be nice? Gees i shouldn't of answered this question seems i've made more questions of my own pmsl

Squid when cooked properly is very tender and has a slight natural sweetness to the meat.
It just sounds like you've been eating bad squid your entire life.
Don't blame the squid for your crappy experience, blame the cook.

I agree but it's not too bad if it's in a general seafood dish like some sort of pasta. Plus people eat snails so there's alot of strange dishes...

If it was "rubbery" you have a lousy cook.
When it is cooked properly it really is delicious,so sack the cook and start again, it's a treat not to miss.!!!
.......Enjoy.
