Nope, all online play on the PS3 is free. some games offer add-ons to them and you have to pay for those, but that's optional.

You can use the web all you want and all you have to pay if for your internet connection in your house.

if you go on the playstation store, a lot of things are free but there are few things you pay for. That is pretty much the only thing that you pay for, and thats only if you want to pay.

even when HOME comes out, (which is like an XBOX LIVE type thing only multiplied by 100) that will be free too. They're not going to charge you $50 like M$.

There is not a charge for the costs of playing online or using the web. I've used the web on my PS3 since I got it, but I've had it for about 10 months.

I doubt that Sony will start charging people for playing online like Microsoft because, Sony has always had free online play, even with the PS2.
