Ecoli and lead findings?

It seems like they are finding so much lead and ecoli in stuff recently..does that mean all those years it contained lead/etc? Im condfused

Hard to say with lead in toys and other stuff from China.
It may have been there and only recently did someone test for it.

In regards to ecoli in foods, with food manufacturers consolidating (big companies buying smaller companies) and production coming from a central location, it seems to be a problem because they are dealing with so many tons of food that if one batch gets contaminated, it's in many products all at once.
