Hello everyone I'm brand new to yahoo answers! My oldest daughter uses this site and loves it. I'm not sure I know how to post my question so I am in hope that this works.

My youngest daughter is transfering college next semester. She has to move out by December 13.

Now she live in the dorms on campus and she is moving to a new dorm on new campus. .

When should I advise my daughter to begin packing and organizing her things for the transfer.

My husband and I have only moved once in our life and that was from China to United States years ago.

thank-you any help would be great!

You should probally tell her to start packing her clothes and stuff around December 7th-11th and tell her DONT WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUET because if she does then most likely she is going to forget something that she needs that happened to me when I went out of state and I waitedto the last min to pack and I ended up forgeting my cell phone,toothbrush/toothpaste and that reall sucked for me :)

Depends on how much stuff she needs to move (I assume it's just little things, not furniture) and how many friends she has. I was able to move out of a dorm in one night with the help of a friend. There isn't much room for stuff in a dorm, so it shouldn't take long. A day or two before she has to be gone (or is planning on being gone) should be fine.

I would say at least a week before, not to early so that she is trying to look through boxes for something she needs.. Maybe start doing pictures and such earlier and leave anything out that may be important...

Best of Luck with the move
