Hi,
I have a new co worker whom I am going to train. I cant describe how yuckie she is.
1) She stinks like hell.(Why people dont use deoderants?)
2) She makes bubbles from her mouth(Not with bubblegum) and cracks those bubbles which makes such annoying noises. Can you think how unpleasant it is to see an adult doing such things?
3) She yawns loudly in meetings and her mouth stinks so bad you can smell her across the table.
4) She never combs her hair and her hair is full of dandruff.
Now my problem is when I am training her she literally sits on my lap and touches my shoulder every minute. I hate it.
How can I tell her about her such behavior.
I am going to throw up in front of her anytime....
Please help

You are right that even I am not perfect. Still I did not mistreat her about anything. I am just annoyed with these things and I dont doubt her capability or knowledge.

Honestly, the only way to deal with it is to be straight up with her. You would rather say it outright than try to be sly about it and her get the wrong idea.
Try tieing it in with her not being 'presentable' for the proffessional world. First impressions are everything, and your just trying to save her from ultimate humiliation(And ok, from having to plug your nose:)

Well, first of all, her sitting on your lap is wildly inappropriate and could get you both fired, unless you work in a brothel or something. The hygeine is really scary, because it seems like human resources or whoever interviewed her would have caught this and not hired her, I know I wouldn't have. I think the best thing to do would be to have your supervisor sit down with her and talk about cleanliness, personal space and whatever heading making bubbles in your mouth falls under; you shouldn't be stuck with this since she is your peer. Good luck on this one!

Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe that you aren't perfect and how you would feel if someone pointed out everything wrong with you? She could be allergic to deoderant or dandruff shampoo's who knows. Just try your best to act in a professional manner and grow up. If you simply can't stand to be around her than maybe have someone else less sensitive train her and not be involved. Or speak to someone in HR to speak with her about her hygiene. It's not fair to her to be treated so poorly at a new job. Or your job to judge someone based on appearance. I'm sure once someone talks to her she'll be mortified and then everyone can be happy...Good luck

1. Spray air freshener when she is around. Talk to HR or your supervisor about her stench.
2. Ignore that. Or give her an "omg ew" look.
3. Don't sit across from her. You are not the only one who notices her yawn loudly in meetings.
4. a. the dandruff, ignore it. hair combing you should also ignore it, unless there is something stated in the employee handbook about dress code, then go and talk to HR about it. b. literally sitting on your lap... you need to move so she is not sitting on your lap. Or say "please don't sit on my lap, I find it inappropriate".
You need to TALK TO HER, and/or talk to HR.

Speak to a manager in charge of her about this. If you are the manager, then you should formally discipline her. There is really no other way around it.

Sounds like she is no asset to the company. Time to show her the door.
