I hated every f_cking second - absolutely hated it. I was essentially kidnapped for 20 months of involuntary servitude in a stupid war and senseless duty after that. The draft is/was immoral.

I served 24 years in the Army, loved every day. It was the only job I can think of where you could complain and enjoy everything. However, there was more I wanted to do on a day to day basis, especially during the Carter years, training and training became redundant. If I had the chance to do things all over again I would have gone into the Coast Guard. Because I want to be a part of day to day "real world" missions they have the golden ring. These people protect lives and property every single day. Contrary to the obvious they are in almost every state. This includes Lakes like Yellowstone. You have to decide what you really want out of life, then choose the best branch to provide that for you. But regardless what you choose, what effort you put into it are the rewards you get in return. Hope this helps.
Added: sorry I have already sent you this with a previous question.

I can honestly say that I did. I joined the Marine Corps when I was 18. My MOS (job) was repairing communication gear. I dealt with all types of people with all types of personalities. I was given a tremendous amount of responsibility at such a young age. I was no longer and individual but became a team player. But the best experience has been meeting people who have become my best friends for life.

There were parts I liked like the traveling. Then there were the bad parts like a lot of the ******* that seem to thrive in the Navy at least, usually the high ranking officers etc. I cant speak so much for the other branches

Everything except the last unit I was in, I ended up being the minority, and I am white, it taught me what black and hispanic people feel like, and I have never NOT gotten along with black people before, so this was totally weird to me. The African Americans told me they did not date white women and I told them I did not discriminate, LOL, but it did not matter. The war hit and I was out of rank and I hit my RCP and got out.

Loved it, best job I ever had. I retired in 2000 after 24 years of service. They put this old Cavalry Trooper out to pasture.

15 years in the French Navy
Hello to our American "true allies"
My career ? some good, some bad -as already said-
I was lucky (or wise ? ) enough to wait until being 33 to get married.
Sailed "all over the World" : great.
Several friends died (one in action) : so sad...
I'm now "retired" (am 46), and working as an account in a penitenciary in France.

Some good, some not so good. I spent a year in Korea while in the US Army. My job was to drive American Red Cross girls around the country. I tolerated it well.
