... why does He send every one to Hell that does not believe, agree, or obey Him?

Because He is the personification of perfect principled love does not mean He is also stupid. Perfect Justice, Wisdom, and Power are His too.

It means He can forgive wrongdoing where there is repentance. No repentance means death. What does death mean?

That is the question you should ask. You seem to believe in a fiery burning Hell of punishment. That is not what the Bible says. Eccles. 9:5,10 and Psalms 146:3, 4 show at death, we no longer have any thoughts, memory, or feelings. Torture would be useless.

Good logic, however...

(1) In the OT, God was "a vengeful, jealous God." He showed his love to some, but in general he wanted his followers to take him seriously.... probably because back then people were less inclined to act according to ethical guidelines (less evolved, more animal?). In other words, he guided them with a firm hand. Spiritual destruction being more long-lasting that physical, God would rather obliterate evil civilisations (and people) rather than perpetuate the cycle of sin, taught from parent to child, which destroyed the souls of his beloved spirit children.

(2) God does not send everyone who does not believe, agree or obey Him to Hell. The NT (like the OT) was God's attempt to teach people the natural consequences of their actions. Spiritual laws are irrevocable and eternal - God didn't invent them, he only teaches them. Choose to do evil, and that makes your spirit become miserable. That's hell. Those who ignorantly do evil, do less offense to their own consciences, and so don't feel as miserable from doing it.

I think that's the whole reason some people wish God (and religion) did not exist. Without God/religion reinforcing what is right and wrong, their guilty consciences would only produce half as much misery. On the other hand, their capacity for joy would be decreased in equal measure.

People who obey feel no such pains of conscience. The righteous are happy. The more "righteous" a person is (eg filled with love, self-control, faith/confidence, etc) the happier they will be.

God teaches us (sometimes very firmly) how to live with a clean and carefree conscience BECAUSE he loves us. That's all there is to it.

Its quite possible that you do not understand what life is or anyone for that matter. Death may be something completely different in Gods eyes. Since he is the creator who are we to judge his ways? How can we comprehend his designs? In the O.T. there was a covenant with God called the ten commandments which were simple rules we had to follow to earn a place in heaven. In the N.T. though a new covenant was formed with God through Gods son Jesus where Jesus died for us so our sins would be forgiven. All you have to do in life technically is confess your sins and they are forgiven. Avoiding hell should be simple unless someones too proud to ask for forgiveness.

Because God said that the wages of sin is death. These people sinned even after seeing His miracles first hand . So in putting them to a secular death He has given some teeth to His law. They are not spiritually dead , their souls lives on and are not in hell . Hell does not come into existence until the Great white throne judgment. These souls have been given a chance at salvation and it was written that many were saved. Why do i get the impression that you are not trying to learn anything, but instead are just trying to make God look bad. Atheistic proselytizing ?

Because everything has its rules like us, why don't you ask to yourself why do not obey God? but we just care about to have fun and we don't care about the rules and if we want to win the prize we have to follow the rules everyone harvest what it seeds so let's follow Jesus if you don't want to go to hell, that's all I can tell you, he create us and he has the right to send us where ever he wants to send us and is not because he wants he wants to send us to the hell is because that's the prize for our acts and for our faith depends on who you believe.....so don't criticize God he loves you a lot more than you think and he is a God of love but of consuming fire too...

The OT is clear evidence that God favoured Israelites over any others.

In ancient times it was accepted that the commandment "thou shall not kill" actually meant "thou shall not kill ISRAELITES".

That's why Moses, who killed an Egyptian, is still considered by God to be a good man.

I believe in God. I believe he's forgiving and all powerfull. But do I believe everything that's written in the OT or the NT? Absolutely not. If I did, I'd just live in fear all the time (a trick some tried using hundreds of years ago to keep people in check).

well He could have just not made you -- then you wouldn't have to worry about it.

Really, we need to stop trying to put ourselves on the same level as God. He created us, He is our Father, He has the right to expect obedience. We as free-will created beings have a stronger consequence to our sins than just a slap on the hand.
Romans 9:20,21: "Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump ... ?"
Who are we to tell God what He should and should not do?
Hope this clarifies it for you.

I understand what you are saying. However, you should really read the bible well and you will see that God always gives warning and just wants people to come back to Him. The book of Jeremiah is a good example of this. In this book God asked why wont you come back to me. He knows whats best for us. In the New Testiment Jesus was warning people to repent. Telling them salvation is here. Showing them many miracles and some still did not believe. You have to understand that God is just. The dicissions He makes are better than we know. He knows all things and we only know what we can see. We can't see in someone's heart to see if they will ever change. God can. God is just. God made us to spend eternity with Him in heaven. After all the hurtfull things we do to Him he forgives us as long as we ask. All we have to do is accept that Jesus died for us for our sins, and know that we need Him. Now eternal hell as punishment is acceptable to me. Sense it is so unfairly easy for us to go to heaven to be with God because He loves us, eternal punishment in hell for going agianst God and furthering the goal of sin is fair to me. If they were just to suffer for a while than be done and their spirit dead. (like atheist believe, you just die and thats it no comprehesion of death) How would that be fair, the suffering would be nothing because they would never know it because they are non-exsentent.
When you read the bible there will be alot you wont understand because you dont have the holy spirit in you. You have to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior before trying to change. Jesus died when we were still sinners and He accepts you as you are. He will change you if you let Him.
Bottom line is you just have to trust God. God is big on that. You just have to say, "even though I dont know everything I am going to trust God that He knows whats best for me and that He is just and Loving" Thats faith.
Frankly to me it is easy. I have seen His love. When I read the bible all I see is His love because I see Him calling for His children to come back to Him, but they love there sinful ways too much to go back and change. They live in the dark to not be seen for what they do. They wouldn't have it any other way. That is their decision. What is yours?
