I believe he created the 125 billion galaxies as way to let you know that it just isn't possible for the universe to be created by a big bang, or mabey they were created for looks from the heavens. It's even possible that they have more to do with this earth(the atmosphere, temps, weather, etc.) than we know. The extent of his great power is indefinite. Everything he created, he did so with such intellegent design and love. It's just awesome and sometimes mind boggling to think about how perfect everything works together to make the conditions liveable on earth. Big Bang I think not! He is the greatest architect ever known and not one human can recreate what he has.

I don't remember ever hearing that said (that only the earth matters)- it is simply assumed that because life on other planets (at least the planets within our reach) hasn't been proven then therefore earth takes precedence in order of importance to preserve man kind. If life were to be found on another planet I'm sure that planet would then be treated with equal importance (though a measure more curiosity).
Hope this helped.

Perhaps Earth Matters a lot..

But it isn't the only planet that does. I often wonder if the same "good vs. evil" scenario told in the bible is playing out simultaneously over billions of planets across the universe.

It'd be very interesting, wouldn't you say?

BTW, not a fundamental Christian. Just someone who has pondered the possibilities before. :D

To show his glory.

(Ps 19:1-4)

"The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard.
Their voice
goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun,"

I can't say that the other galazies don't matter, or othe planets for that fact. The earth matters to us, because we live here. We don't know if other life is in the other galaxies, if there was, then what ever planet they lived on would be the most important to them. To bad that people don't take care of this planet.

Why not? His existance is not limited , so why should what He creates be limited? The Earth is what we know, the rest is to be discovered. How do you discover the heart of the artist?Study his work. Get to know the heart of God: study His creation, study His word.

As for John F.'s comment above, if you read scripture, they may not have had the technology we have now, but they certainly knew more about creation than you give them credit for. :)

Since when do we know that only the earth matters? Jsut b/c the Bible does not mention others does not mean that they don't exist. There's not a word in there about my laptop, but I'm still using it (lol)!

Have a great day!

Good question. Maybe god would have put more poeple on other planets is adam and eve didn't mess up.
So later when the earth is perfect and the poeple are perfect the other planets will come into play.
