I am about to start using Accutane, however I cannot seem to find out how much it is going to cost me?? I dont have health insurance and since I have to go through the initial steps of treatment before begining the actual medication I dont have a prescription to get an estimate from the pharamices. Can someone who is currently taking it shed some light on the approximate cost?! Thanks!

Without insurance it can cost well over $100 for a 30 day supply. It is a VERY expensive medication.

When I was on accutane I had insurance and it only cost me a $10 copay every month.

You might want to consider finding a cheap insurance that will cover the medication for you, or even a discount prescription plan that will cover accutane. There is also a generic form of accutane that will be cheaper then the brand name.

Good luck to you!

Cost of accutane does vary according to the store and depending on other circumstances. However if you want a low cost of accutane, you have better options as well. As you want to start using accutane, but cannot seem to find out how much it is going to cost. Hence the confusion regarding cost of accutane. Check pharmacy store for exact cost of accutane.

w/o insurance around $600 and some a month. w/ insurance, cheap. stuff works, but i would never have paid that much. heres an answer of mine from a related question.

I have tried alot too, and Im 25. The only thing that has ever helped me clear up all together w/ my acne was acutane (expensive prescription) and now what I use is Tea Tree Oil, its a herb oil. And only runs about 3.50 maybe. I use the generic pro-active from Walmart called acne free. I mix what is the preventive gunk (step 3) w/ the the tea tree oil, You may just want to use an oil-free face lotion. I just directly from the bottle tip it up against my palm (so it don't pour all over) (its a very strong smell, that does fade, dont worry, my boyfriend has never complained, but at first its strong, but it fades) so there is some oil, not much, not even maybe a drop than mix it with your lotion or whatever you want to use and put it on your face (all over w/ the lotion) ( dont get in your eyes) this stuff even gets rid of lice. Wash your face day and night, or at least use sea breeze, to take away the oil at night.
Even during the time on the month time for a girl, I would for sure get an outbreak, and I only got one little one that went away maybe in a day and half, compared to 1 week and half. For real, I hope this helps you. If you have it alot more like it sounds, give time, the stuff stinks, only for a min, and than you cant smell it at all. Email me if this helps, I'll let everyone know. You should be able to buy the stuff at a pharmacy, I got mine at store that had everything, but not a wal-mart, locally owned. Sorry for all the talk, you know girls.

One plan that has a prescription drug card included with no waiting periods is eHealthPlus. You'll get up to 25% off on Accutane and up to 50% off generic equivalents.

it has been a few years, but I thought a one month supply was over one hundred dollars then....I would think a pharmacy would tell you in advance...
