Nope....you tell the judge "with all due respect, I'm not a christian, and I won't place my hand on the bible, but I do promise to tell the truth..."
Usually that's good enough for them. Many courts no longer require you to swear on the Bible any longer......

They only do that in backwards states like Texas and Alabama. Oddly, the Bible warns against swearing in just that way. And even devout Christians have been known to perjure themselves despite the metaphysical precaution. I just promise to tell the truth, as they ask.

Some won't make a big deal out of it, but a lot will refuse. I think some courts will let you bring in your own holy book if you don't believe in the Bible. I know someone who took in an "Advanced Logic" textbook to swear upon.

If I think it will help me with the judge, sure, but swearing on the Bible or not swearing on the Bible is eaningless from a perjury standpoint.

Most courts don't ask you to do that anymore. If one did, it would surprise me. I'd tell them that I don't follow the Bible, but that I would swear to tell the truth, anyway.

I'll swear on anything and just like anyone of 'faith' I'll tell the truth as long as it's convenient.
98% of USian criminals in USian gaols are theists of one breed or another - do you honestly think none of them lied after swearing to tell truth?
Look to your Commander-in-Thief - he's been thieving in one way or another since he landed the top job - his whole life has been a scam (sham).
