Uh..actually, why leave your cell number on a dating ad? Keep it private until you know you got good answers in front of you.
In that case, heck yes you did good. And don't just give out your cell phone on the Internet again. But you shouldn't give up online dating. I'm thinking you're quite picky right now. That could change. Not every guy who uses online dating is a two-timing hormone package from hell.

I think that you did. I'm sure there are necessarily "good brothers" on there. And if so, you have to weed through all the frickin jerks to get to the good ones. I was recently on a sight as well. And out of about 120 messages I wanted to talk to two guys. LOL. so yeah, I think you did the right thing. you're cute and you'll find a good guy. It takes time.

Well...its a little to late to question if it was good or not about changing your phone number...
Did you keep the "good guys" phone numbers? If you did, well call them up and let them know you changed your number.
Now, what is up with the online-dating? Your a pretty girl....you should go mingle some where there is grown ,mature people....meaning..NOT the club.

It was your choice. I wouldn't have done it because I have no problem simply telling people "thank you, but I'm not interested" while keeping myself open to hear from those I might be interested in and also being able to initiate contact with them.
There are always going to be those that approach you that aren't what you are seeking or desire. That's life...as the saying goes "you've got to kiss a lot of toads before you find your handsome prince"

I met my current girlfriend, of over a year, online. It just takes lots of patience really, there is a lot of crap you have to sift through on those things to find out what you want.
I don't know why you had to change your cell phone number though, you are probably passing that out too freely.

Yes, you did the right thing. You don't want to get into something you'll end up regretting. Be patient and wait on the right one for you. You find the best ones when you're not searching.

Yeah if it isn't something you wanted to pursue anymore then the steps you took will help because they won't be able to contact you anymore.

I suppose you did the right thing...It's best to avoid the bad stuff if possible...but it's at a cost, if you feel better afterwards, then you certainly did the right thing.
