Since your question requires evidences to proof as to whether Quran was authored by Mohammad, I have no option but to reproduce the openions of great historians & critics in this reegard.

" Alcoran [ Quran ] as a standing miracle, since so many persons of singular eloquence did attempt to write the like but could never equal it. "--pg-162,An Account Of The Rise And Progress of MAHOMETANISM with the life of Mahomet, by Henry Stubbe, M.A. of Christ Church-Oxford, from a manuscript copied by Charles Hornby of Pipe Office in 1705, London, Luzec & Co. 1911.

".......... Well then, IF KORAN WERE HIS OWN COMPOSITION OTHER MEN COULD RIVAL IT. If they could not [ and it is obvious that they could not ], then let them accept the Koran as an outstanding evidencial miracle."--[Mohammadanism, An Historical Survey, by HAMILTON A.R.GIBB, pg-40]

"....All these scriptures were written revelations, and all alike are to be believed and accepted, since they all cofirm one another and the Koran in particular not only confirms earlier scriptures but as final revelation, clears up all uncertainities and is the repository of perfect truth."--[Ibid, pg-53]

" I believe that he really did receive something directly from God. As such, I believe that the Qur’an came from God, that it is Divinely inspired. Muhammad could not have caused the great upsurge in religion that he did without God’s blessing." [“The whole house of Islam, and we Christians with them...” An interview with “the Last Orientalist” - the Rev Prof William Montgomery Watt by Bashir Maan & Alastair McIntosh]

Some logical questions also arise............

1-Mohammad was an illiterate person, How could he write such beautiful commandments ?

2- If Mohammad authored the Quran why he didn't put himself as the God ? You must be knowing about the small gods like Rajnish, Sai Baba, Gurudev who have presented themselves as the gods. Why Mohammad sacrificed for this opportunity of life time ?

3-Why Quran talks about the whole humanity [ Rab ul alemin] and not for the Muslims only [Rabul Muslemin] ?

4-Why Quran confirms all religions sent before it ?

5- Why Quran considers all prophets sent before Mohammad as prophets ? It could have told that Mohammad is the only prophet . What Islam gained by declaring all of them as the prophets ?

It is now for you to decide.

I will try and answer your question logically. First of all, it is a widely accepted fact that Mohammad(PBUH) was UMMI(Arabic for could not read or write). It is also widely accepted that The Quran is of the highest degree of literature in Arabic. Even the Non-Muslims believe that. How can an UMMI do this?

It is widely accepted that for a crime, there has to be a motive. What was his motive in doing this? The main motive for a man can be power, money and women. His life as a Prophet was full of hardships and tests. On a worldly basis, he was leading a much better life.

Lets deal with each one at a time. He was from a well to do affluent Arab family. His uncle was the leader of the Hashimite tribe. Even when his message started spreading, the Arabs offered him to be a tribal leader, but he refused it. So, it can ‘t be power.

For money. His first wife Khadija, was a very wealthy woman. So it really can’t be for money. If you read about his life as a Prophet he used to give all his money to the poor and never kept money for himself. He would often go without food.

For women. In the Arab culture it wasn’t really a big deal for a man to have multiple wives. Even worse, women could be bought as slaves. So it really can’’t be this.

Now we can actually examine the as to what was written. Man made thing can’t be without error or contradiction, especially when it is written in a span of 23 years. It is easy to forget what one said 17 years earlier and say something in conformity with it. It is not like editing documents today on a computer. Also there are so much scientific theories in the Quran which have recently been discovered by science. How can a man write this.

You have to read the full life story of the Prophet and be your own judge of what kind of a person he was. I know there will be a lot of posts here that will try and tell you how a horrible person (Nauzubillah) Mohammad (PBUH) was. I am not stopping you from reading it, but for every such site you should also read the Islamic view from a reliable source. It is only fair to read both sides of the story. For any questions, please feel free to contact me.

The truth of the Quran cannot be questioned that it is sent down on the Prophet [PBUH] .There is no question about it whatsoever as the others have explained that the Prophet [PBUH] was an Ummi so could not read or write.

But what I am wondering is that your name is a Muslim name so are you a Muslim or not ? If yes then how can you ask this question if you have read the Quran or had been instructed about it by your parents?

Prophet Muhammad never went to any type of school or institution to learne to read and write arabic or any other language.
It is miracle of Holy Book The God Almighty ( Allah ), through Angel Gibraeel ( a.s. ) taught Prophet Muhammad Qura'n.
Information about Past and Future in Qura'n is miracle and can not be known to a person who never attended any kind of worldly learning center.
Even the most learnered people of that time were not able to know that information and kind of language used in Qura'n.

It was really sent by ALLAH and the proof of this is that MUHAMMAD (P.B.U.H} did not know how to read and write. He never went to a school. He memorised the verses and then recited them before his companions who wrote them on tablets.he lost his parents at very small age.How can a person who did know how to write even, write a complete book,IT WAS ALL A MIRACLE OF ALLAH(SWAT).........though the QURAN was revealed about 1428 years ago it has many facts which have been proved before some50-100 yrs before. How come MUHAMMAD (P.B.U.H) who was illiterate know this all?it is truly the book sent by ALLAH (SWAT).

THERE IS NO SCIENTIFIC PROOF JUST A BELIEF LIKE OTHER RELIGIOUS BELIEFS.AS FAR AS THE QUALITY OF LITERATURE IS CONCERNED IT IS PAR EXCELLENCE AND IS TAUGHT AS THE MOST SUPERIOR LITERATURE EVER PRODUCED IN THE TOP UNIVERSITIES WORLD WIDE IN ARABIC STUDIES
NOW CONING OUT OF A PERSON WHO WAS UN LETTERED IE NO EDUCATION
DEDUCTION EITHER HE WAS A GENIUS OR IT IS A MIRACLE
IT UP TO EVERY ONE TO CONCLUDE FOR THEM SELVES

The truth of the Quran is wisdom, altruism, etc. as a guide for a group of people who see it as such.
