does it really work? I've been using ibuprofen and orajel for four days, does oil of cloves work better? (i cant get in to see a dentist till monday!) please help, this pain is KILLING me!

Lawrence Olivier used it on Dustin Hoffman in "Marathon Man". Seemed to work for him !

Actually, years ago, dentists would place clove oil onto a tooth after drilling out a cavity. It tastes horrible but, the idea was that it would prevent further decay, reduce any discomfort and, if I remember correctly, it would help with the filling to stay in place longer. I'm uncertain if this helps with a toothache but, it sounds plausible. Here's a web:

Yes it works.Its expensive, like $5 for a little bottle and it stinks to high heaven, but it works wonders.

yes it works for a minute or so but anbesol liquid numbs your tooth and gum in secs and lasts ages also try paracetamol and ibrofen together thats what i did and i am still alive!

Yes, I used it and it made me throw up everywhere. I couldn't stand the scent of it. and it was hard to get the taste out of my mouth
