Hello Sara! Good question! Here's my theory based on my own experiences. In my life time I've had many 'out of body' experiences where I have fell asleep and during that sleep I have left my body and floated around into other parts of the home that I live. Some like minded people call it 'astral planing'. As you begin to come out of your sleep your astral comes back into your body with a bump, which then wakes you up with a bit of a jolt. There is a similar occurrence to when you have a 'near death ' experience. The spirit leaves the body and floats around until such time it's ready to come back. It is true to say that when we die the physical body is dead and absolute but the 'spirit ' or the 'soul' of that body lives on. In many journals there are written accounts of how our 'spirit' live on and expert analysis as to why. Just visit your local library to read amazing stories of the after life which may shed some light to your question.

Life and consciousness is a complete mystery to science!
We observe and describe the physical, even "copy" parts of it, but indeed can not really explain it!
There are 3 basic presuppositions in life that can not
be proved either true or false phillosophically.
Either we are body with a soul/spirit that lives on, we are
reincarnated (eternal soul), or there is no spiritual life or supernatural at all (aka atheist perspective).
Those are the three main phillosophical presuppositions
or world views of life - from each of those starting
points, a different perspective on life, morality, etc.
is determined.
We MUST admit to the unavoidable "presuppositions"
Yes, atheists, you DO follow dogma - it's unavoidable.

There are so many things that I could say right now, but you really need to look up Bill Weiss on your computer and watch his testimony about the 23 minutes that he spent in hell. It is life changing even for the most devout religious person.
I bet no one ever tells him there is no life after death.
And another thing, how did the medical world decide that there was no life after death?
Did a ghost come back and tell them?

Their are also medical facts, about people who had no belief in God, die, and are brought back to life again by the Doctor.
All had the same experience, some experienced Heaven and some experienced Hell. But all these people who have experienced this, had their lives changed in a very positive way. They began having faith. And medical science can't
truly explain this.

Physical death is an absolute. Whether or not there is a soul and life after is unprovable. Either way..Oh, and there are Medical professionals that are believers in a life after.

Theres "proof" that their is a soul component or something too, and it appears to leave. Where does it go?
Such as when one goes on life support after their dead, they seem to have lost this too.
We also have our Moral issues at hand, other creatures don't seem to have that part of their lives. To me thats part of the soul and heard others think so too, but I don't have any names to give.
We also connect with others in ways that are not physical or mental. Like knowing when someone dies or is hurt.
I've also seen spirits and the Creator, but thats my word.

Indisputable medical "facts" end with the medical aspect of death. It goes far beyond that... trust me.

We say that because we believe in Jehovah God, our creator.
We believe he knows more then any man. Jesus is proof enough for us.
We will live for every. Our spirits will leave or dead bodies, that really died anyway when we excepted Jesus.
We will be like the angels. As is promised in Revelations.
It's not something we think, it's something we know.
Hope you will also. God Bless!

Gosh, Sara, I know you're a top contributor and all, but personally I'd like a little more substantiation on this topic than just your say so.
Of course, that would mean that you were asking a serious question, not just trying to goad the masses.
On behalf of the group, might I suggest you get a new hobby?
