Which games are good for this age?

He takes lots of exercise, is frequently playing outside, loves lego and cycling his bike. I wasn't thinking of banning these activities so he spent time on his DS or PS2.

Neither, 6 year olds should be outside playing not sitting around staring at a video game.

Well DS is more targeted for that age, and it is portable, which is always good. But on the other hand, PS2 has a much better variety of games, has several for that age, and has better graphics and gameplay.. If your child knows how to take care of his things, and he can keep a working PS2 around for a while, I'd go with the PS2.. but if you think it wouldnt last very long, or he would get tired of it and want something new, i would go with the DS

I have a 6 year old son that has a DS and he loves it if I remember he has Mario DS, Over the hedge and nitendogs, looks like we will be getting him transformers for xmas. He also has a few old GB advanced games monsters inc. and others i cant remember that work on the DS as well, all these games are great for his age and he has no trouble playing them. I would say DS over PS2

Nintendo is doing mostly child and family friendly games. In fact, they just released the first "violent" game for Nintendo on the Wii. Most "bad" games are on the ps2. But the DS has mostly hand eye cordnation games and thinking games. Think of it like this, on the DS you have math games, on the PS2 you have Grand Theft Auto. Hope this helps.

Ok, if hes asked for one, then by all means get him one, but as others have said dont get him involved if possible. As to the PS2 or DS, id say PS2 there are a wider variety of games avaliable and unlike a DS he cant be on it all the time, it is a console you can control...

A PS2. I'm going out on a limb here, but theres alot better games on the ps2.

Buy him an Eyetoy with it and he can move around and still exercise, but have fun doing it. I suggest Eyetoy Play2, its fun simple and easy.

Theres alot of educational games on the PS2 too. Check your local walmart or something to check out the selection of games.

Plus, he likes lego so you can get him Lego Starwars. Its very fun and very easy for a 6year old to play.

I think a PS2 will be better for a 6 year old because theres alot of cool rated E games fo him and i think there is a game that is lego (Not sure)
I dont think a NDS is great for a 6 year old because it is easy to losse the penical that you use for the NDS and it is very easy for a 6 year old to scratch up the screan

6 year olds are kinda young to understand either. I would choose a Leap Frog education game instead of a Ps2 or a DS

PS2, there's not that much price difference between them, and there are a load of good games for the PS2 that he should enjoy. It also plays DVDs so that's handy.
