I'm an American citizen living in the United States. Do I need to go to the local Mexican embassy to get a green card so that I can remain here?

As a USA citizen, borne and raised, to include service in the military, I sometimes feel I would be better off having a green card, would have more political power.

An American citizen? Not unless you are trying to use the idea of being a citizen somewhere amongst many countries in 'the Americas' as a pseudonym for being an 'American Citizen'.

If you're an official US citizen, you were born here no? If thats the case, you dont have to get a green card... You're given a social security card. If not, you need to get a green card otherwise, you're here illegally.
