If you are checking on one of this generic websites such as expedia and/or travelocity then you will not be able to get any prices from the LCC carriers.
Understand that airlines like Southwest (probably non-stop), AirTran (probably non-stop or a connection through Atlanta), Frontier(probably connection in SLC), Midwest, and JetBlue (might connect through JFK) all fly the route and might be able to get you there for cheeper than the prices listed on the websites that you have been checking.

The only cheap airfare you will get in that time frame is if you actually fly on Thanksgiving morning, but coming back would still be expensive. The airlines count on that weekend to make a lot of money.

Go to: www@expedia.com. The company advertises on tv from time-to-time here. They sound as though their airfares are fair and reasonable. You be the judge. Good luck!

Try southwest
Might be cheaper to go to Tampa.
I will assume you need to rent a car anyway.
and Orland o is a easy 1.5 hour drive.
