You are absolutely right, because the Bible says that ALL have sinned.

So I don't know where this stuff comes from that Mary was without sin...probably from those who don't read the Bible.

There is no such thing as original sin. A child is not responsible for the sins of the parents, but may suffer from the consequences. In other words, because Adam and Eve partook, death comes upon all, but we are not responsible for it. All have sinned implies all have need of a savior and repentence, including Mary. Christ was the only sinless one, the only lamb offered up as a sacrifice without spot or blemish. I am not sure why they say Mary was without sin or why they would even be concerned about her. It seems we have enough to worry about whether we sin or not.

This was not belief held in the early years of the church. In fact, Mary is not mentioned frequently in the Bible and was not that vital in the early Christian religion other than as the one chosen to be the mother of Jesus. Many beliefs were added to the early church doctrines during and after the Middle Ages, and this is one of them. This and other beliefs were part of the reason the Reformation came about, and at that time, the reformers tried to find a belief system supported by Bible and the teachings of the apostles.

Because they are mistaken. And have not read the Good News Bible properly. Because God says in the Bible all have sinned.

Also, maybe they think it is a shame to be found with sin. Especially if you are Jesus's mother. But Bible also says He became sin for us. This doesn't mean that Jesus had sin, because we are told he was without sin.

But died to take way our sins.

It all started at the Garden of Eden you know the story about the forbidden fruit - apple. But the fruit was not poison. The sin of Adam and Eve was their disobedience to God and he said the punishment for disobedience was death, so because we all have sinned, we all die.

But the good news is that Jesus has died in our place to take away our sin. That whom ever should believe in Him might not die but have eternal life.

There are many more contradictions than that in the books of the bible but the reason some say so is this:

In the 4th century when Constantine organized Christianity in an effort to save the Roman Empire he had to successfully market a new religion.

This is accomplished by deifying humans. The sect of Christianity known as Catholicism view communication with the Virginal Mother Mary as a direct line to Heaven.

The purification of her character in history is essential to the structure and belief system of the Catholic Church.

Good observation though I have always found a better question to be: Who did Cain marry and where did her parents come from?

They say it because many people believe that the Roman Catholic church IS the ORIGINAL church. The Catholic church teaches this doctrine and it is something they made up. To honor, worship and pray to Mary is to make an idol of her which was never God's intention for her. The bible says she was honorable, but it doesn't say she was perfect or else she wouldn't have died or would have ressurected herself. Many people in the Roman Catholic religion only take part in it because it's a family tradition and not what they really believe. So, alot of people pray to and honor Mary but she didn't rise from the dead and she's not the eternal Father so I wouldn't bother. Alot of Catholics only say with their mouth all this nonsense about Mary but they don't in their heart believe it. Most people in the Catholic church do not understand how the doctrine was changed over and over and over and how far many of their teachings have wandered from the bible. Do some research on Martin Luther you'll find that intriguing.

Catholics believe in the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This means that by the grace of God, she was conceived without the effects of Original Sin.

When the angel Gabriel called Mary, "Full of grace," Mary was already full of grace.

When the angel Gabriel said, "The Lord is with you," the Lord was already with her.

The Blessed Virgin Mary was in a state of grace (without sin) before she says "yes" to the angel's question and before the Holy Spirit came upon her for a different purpose.

When did Mary's state of grace begin?

Catholics believe this state of grace was with Mary since her Immaculate Conception. This means that Mary was conceived in the normal way (not like Jesus) but that she did not inherit original sin.

With the grace of God and without the effects of original Sin, we believe that Mary did not commit personal sin at any time during her life.

God prepared her for her later role as the mother of Jesus.

Catholics celebrate this miracle on December 8 as the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 490 and following: http://www.nccbuscc.org/catechism/text/pt1sect2chpt2art3p2.htm#490

We also believe that Jesus Christ never committed personal sin.

With love in Christ.

Why do "some" cherry-pick Bible verses and and shoehorn them into their own preconceived notions?

Really, folks, can we give this Immaculate Conception thing a rest -- or at the very least, use the Y!A "search" function? This has been asked and answered about 10,000 times, at least half of them (it seems) yesterday.

Or better yet, how about just not worrying about what Catholics do or don't do. I'm sure we'll all find out who's "saved" or not, and whether beliefs like this have anything to do with it, soon enough.

there was a man.
who teleported into an egg.
the egg hatched
a bunch of people said.

all hail the chicken, the mother of the man.

this is their logic, refusing to look at the fact that God and Yeshua existed before mary existed.
there are many problems with catholic beliefs.

starting from worshipping idols.
praying to saints.
basing salvation on works.
deifying flawed humans.

but they do also perform alot of good deeds, homeless shelters, orphanages, hospitals etc.

we can each learn from each other.
but sometimes we have to be honest with ourselves when we realize by all reason that we are following something wrong.

faith and knowledge without works.
VS
faith with false doctrine but with plenty of works.

in the end, we are all wrong and we all need to come together and help each other out.

Does the word of God says that she was without sin?? Check the scripture, what makes anyone right or wrong is the word of God...from what I can recall, God chose her because she was pure, as in she didnt lay with any man..it was in her destiny to give birth to baby Jesus..dont listen to what everybody be saying, read the word for yourself. God Bless
