I aks because some people seem to get a kick form telling people that they are going to hell. We are to grow in grace daily.....according to the Scriptures.
And when we have disagreements with our fellow believers....which often does happen.......we simply know that Christ is our common denominator.

And as far as how we should act in the presence of non-believers.....

They are the ones who scrutinize us the most so.......it would be best to bear good fruit at ALL times......with believers & non alike. But regardless of their judgments toward us......no one can ever bring a charge against God's elect.....it is God who justifies.

Honestly, not one Christian I've known or ever met gets a kick from telling people that they are going to hell. Sometimes though I mean really think about this for a minute. If in your heart you believed with 100% certainty that there was a hell and that people were going to suffer wouldn't YOU try to warn people of what was going on? Sometimes, love is tough and one of the tough things about Christian love is that there is a balance between compassion and truth. It takes a very mature believer to know that loving their neighbors and their fellow man requires building a relationship with them and that relationship requires caution, care and understanding. You have to remember that not all people who say they are Christians really are. Also, everyone is at a different place of maturity in their life as well. Someone who understands very little will turn someone like you off very quickly whereas someone more skilled in developing relationships and more understanding of who Jesus is might quickly become your trusted friend.

What is a True Christian to you? I don't tell people they
are going to Hell. People have their own views what
a True Christian should be. For example, someone
posted about Christians and the past holiday and asked
why do we bend the rules for that day and also said
True Christians hates gays.
Well, I pass out candy to the kids and dress up
myself. I thought it was all in how you look at it.
Yes, there are crazy ones out there on Halloween
but they are the ones that twist it into something
it is not suppose to be. I also have a gay cousin
who I love very much. It amazes me what people
think a True Christian should be. I guess I am not
a True Christian in their eyes. All I know is I am
not perfect and yes, we are suppose to love all
people and be gracious and I admit I struggle with
that all the time. I also wish sometimes I could go
back and change answers but it is usually too late.
I sometimes have a hard time trying to explain things
and it ends up coming out wrong.
Thanks.

Yes, you have a basic understanding of how a Christian is to act. But I hope that you don't have the idea that we are all 100% perfect, because that isn't possible. We are human, we make mistakes, we sin, and hopefully we're all in the process of being made more and more like Christ.

Many people act wrongly because they have not yet learned a particular lesson. Jesus doesn't just poof us into perfection on the day we are saved. Don't let your experience of Christians alter what you know to be the way.

Telling people they're going to hell is the worst thing you could say, IMHO.

The Bible says, Love one another as I love you. By this I will know you are my followers -- I may not have written it EXACTLY correct but that is the general meaning of the verse. Love thy neighbor, treat others how you wish to be treated, that is how Christians are supposed to act towards one another.

I would contend that the behavior you are pointing to - judging others and condemning them from on high, setting ourselves up to judge the quick and the dead - is elevating ourselves into God's place and is the therefore very definition of a sin. Also, I believe this violates objective morality; completely apart from how a Christian ought to act, how is any human being supposed to act?

They are supposed to act with the guidance of God thought the Holy Spirit which they received at their Baptism.

Corinthians's tells us that not all are to be teachers, profits, speak in tongues, ect ... but that we each have unique ways give to us by the Spirit (received at Baptism). As such, not all Christan's will be full of the grace, Mercy. Some use Judgment to keep their fellow Christan's safe.

How are they supposed to act when they disagree ... it's called opening dialog's. Above all, they are called to protect human dignatiy ... which most religions stive 4.

They are to love thier neighbours as themselves and set an example of what a christian should be. they should not condemn anyone but try and lead others to the lord and help new christians in understanding god's word and his plan for them. the bible also says take the speck out of your own eye before you take the log out of someone elses

This is how I act with anyone because I bllieved it is the best to live by or at least to me.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul , with all your mind and with all your strength . And love your neighbor as yourself.

Do not judge and you will not be judged. Do not condemn and you will not be condemned. With the measure you measure with will be the measure given back to you. Treat others as you would want them to treat you.

If I were to tell you that you are going to hell it would mean I know enough about you to make that call... but... it is not me, or any other Christian, who is "judging" you... it is God... and I do not make the decision, and God does not make the decision, if you go to hell or not... YOU make the decision... One who knows The Truth of The Salvation Message is able to see, in most, when one is living their life in a way that will lead to eternal seperation from God(hell). But we, who know The Truth, do not make any "judgment"...we observe and state the fact... you decide if you are going to hell or not...

Religion is not in the tradition, nor in rituals.
Religion has no adjective to describe it.
Religion is simply religion, as love is love.
Can we call love Christian, Hindu, Muslim?
If love is neither Christian nor Hindu nor Islamic, then why should God be Christian, Hindu or Jewish?

Live and die for love.
