Hi.
This myth about humans only using 5% of our brain is very persistent and wrong. We use all of our mental capacity - just look it up somewhere.

I would feel that if an omnipotent god created man who then uses only 5% of his mental capacity it is not God's fault since he allows man free will. I feel that God would be saddened by the fact that man does not use his full mental capacity.

The "5%" figure was probably started by someone observing a CAT scan and asking what percent of the brain was active at the moment. This was an observation of place and time. At another time, another area of the brain was active. If all the brain was active at once, it would cause a seizure. Humans use 100% of their brains, but can't use all of it at once. Those who attempt to suffer epillepsy.
God is not jelous of man; I believe the reverse is true. I view monotheism as an attempt to usurp the creator by reducing Him to words and then locking Him in a book. It's sad when humans try to own their own creator in this fashion.

You use 3% of your brain at any one time, but you use all your brain capacity at different times. Theres a reason why you can't use 100% all at once its something to do with neurons not being able to reset quickly enough, but I can't remember exactly.

Nice question, I guess the argument to that is: If there is a God he has generated evolution, so not only have our brains grown they have increased the capasity as time goes by. In time we may exceed the 5% capasity.

That might be the dumbest thought I've ever heard. No, God is not jealous of man.

First off I suspect that figure is B.S. & pseudoscience
But secondly, it wouldn't surprise me that we've stunted our brains with sin. I mean we were created to experience the eternal God on a daily basis.... surely the sex, materialism, and self-obsession that humans regularly occupy their minds with requires less brain power than seeking to comprehend & interact with the infinite creator of all that exists..

5%, 10% - they're all wrong and ridiculous. Look it up in Snopes.
And if you still insist it's so, and bearing in mind that your brain uses up 30% of your food and oxygen, which bits would you like me to remove?
