I don't think it's a sin to play the lottery. But just like drinking alcohol, it has proven to be a trap for a whole lot of people who would be better off not doing it at all.

Gambling comes in many forms - investing in mutual funds is a gamble. A Christian needs to use common sense and if he plays the lottery or the stock market, he needs to have good sense and moderation.

Christians are not supposed to gamble because it is gabling away what God has given them to make good use of.

Remember the story that Jesus told of the person who buried the amount that his master had given him. What little he had when his master came back was taken from him.

Saying that mum is devote catholic and she likes to try the lottery.

But another thing about gambling is that the odds are always weighed heavy against you. I suppose people like to feel that they can go against all odds and beat them. But sadly more often than not they end up with nothing.

But still I love mum she is cool!

Isn't gambling a sin? The love of money is the root of all evil?

What's the point of gambling? To take as much of somebody elses money as you can....

Doesn't that show "love for money"?????

Gambling can become an addiction, just like drugs, or porn. Anything you put before God is your "master".
