I don't think the phrase "burn in hell" is in the Bible, but it's clear there will be fire there.

Matthew 5:22 - But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca, ' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.

Matthew 18:9 - And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.

Mark 9:43 - If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.

James 3:6 - The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

Hell is the total absence of God, who is the source of all good, so nothing good can exist there. It's pure torment whether there's literal fire there or not. There will be no relief from the unimaginable suffering because there will be no God.

That very phrase does not occur in the Bible. There are very few descriptions on hell itself. Revelation 20:14-15 is one of many places that talk about there being fire in Hell. Also check out Matthew 13:42

The bible does not state you will "burn in hell". However, if you read revelation, then its obvious that the non believers will be sent to the LAKE OF FIRE!..anyone who questions this is obviously either an atheist or a Jehovah Witness

The Book of Revelation calls hell "the lake of fire" - Also in the gospels there are metaphors like branches being cut-off and burned.

However, you have to be careful not to over simplify what hell is. The Bible always uses extreme metaphors to make an extreme point. The point is HELL is VERY BAD as compared to being in Heaven. It is banishment from God and so-forth.

The Bible is NOT teaching that people will be tortured in a manner that would be clearly unjust.

Other examples of the use of extremes in biblical teaching are passages such a “cut off your arm or pluck out your eye rather than sin.” The Bible is NOT teaching us to pluck out our eyes or cut off our hands. The Bible is making an extreme point that SIN is very serious and should be taken as such.

In fact, the use of extreme examples and metaphors to make a point was common in the ancient world and thus also in the Bible. I'm not trying to soften what hell might be but those passages must be read in that context to fully understand what is being taught.

If I had any concerns about burning, I'd get my information from the real source....read the bible. You will dismiss what we say, but once you read it,,,you may believe yourself..."Abandon Hope, All Who Enter Here"....sign above the door of Hell,,,,in Dante's Inferno...

the way you worded out the question seems that you have to put it this way
where in the bible does it say "you will burn in hell"

you can go to biblegateway.com
type the keyword search and write that whole thing down.
most likeley it wont give you a result.

the thing is, Jesus spoke about hell more than anyone.
not because he enjoyed it but because he loved people enough that he wants to warn them about it.

the problem with this is simply that people are sinners but jesus came to save them... sadly people are too proud and think they can save themselves.

mostly people dont think they dont owe God anything or that God sholdnt be offended by their petty sins.

the thing is, God is the absolute manifestation of purity, any speck of wrong is greatly magnified.

but that doesnt mean that God is a vengeful evil being that wants to destroy all people.

no
he wants to destroy evil but save the people who comitted those evils.
but its your choice.
do you want to embrace your evil deeds or do you want to let go and turn away from it,.. thats all it goes down to.

hell is simply a place where God's presence wont be felt.
it means you wont feel anything GOOD, since all good things come from God.
you will end up feeling empty and really really bad, with nothing to see or do.

in such a case you can think of it like hunger.

if you reject FOOD you hunger and feel pain.
food did not cause your agony. your choice did.

the same with God, if you want to reject God or accept him.

Jesus said I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE.
THE LIVING WATER.

so its your choice.

i am not asking you to join a church nor give money to a church.

I am telling you to live your life loving others.
help on charity. dedicate part of your income to helping people in need, start with 10% or something then step up from there.

but you see, its not about all these doctrine waste of time.

just love people, forgive people, and do as much good as you can,. build up your character, peace patience kindness generousity, all these things.

pray to God and ask him to reveal himself to you and he will not disappoint anyone who dilligently seek him.

Grace and Peace.
In Christ Yeshua,
Baggs.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

when the rich man and the beggar died, the rich man was in hell and the beggar was in heaven.
The rich man knew where he was, he could feel, and he knew he was hopeless. He asked if Abraham could his tongue with water. Why?

Hell will eventually be tossed in the Lake of Fire. This is the second death.

it is referred to on a good number of occassions throughout the bible. But in revelation it says that after armaggedon that satan and all his people (including non-believers) shall be put into the lake of fire and brimstone. and after this there will be a new heaven and a new earth.
