I went to public schools. I remember when I was in 0 grade in elemtary school in Poland, they taught us mandatory religion. In 0 grade I I think I remember, religion sessions divided between girls and boys. Sometimes, it happened when one of us was beaving bed, the penalty was to go to corner and stand with trousers pulled down, and you had even to pull down underwear. I am not kidding. This case never revealed itself up. And this priest after 3 years was moved to another diecese. In my country this applies to every priest that every few years must go to another place, unless he owns church in local place. How would you react if you knew that something like that happens in your town. I believe in the U.S that would be not tolerated and he would be sent to jail. Right?

If the child was never touched in a sexual manner, the priest would be charged with Child Abuse, and prohibited from being in the presence of a minor while unsupervised. He wouls also likely face some very steep civil charges and possible multi-million dollar lawsuit.

The probability of him facing actual jail time would be quite high.

All of this is, naturally, assuming that the situation actually came to light.

Nowadays, yes, anybody that did that would probably be charged with child abuse and possibly some type of molestation charge. However, there is a statute of limitations on it, meaning if it happened more than 10 years ago (or however long the statute is) the accused can no longer be prosecuted criminally.

I agree with Song, the priest would just be moved to another parish and the church would pay out some money. We need frontier justice back.

Oh heck, we have priest that molest children and the Catholic church moves them out of that priesthood and puts them somewhere where they can do less damage. I have not heard of a Priest doing jail time ever.

Can someone please prove me wrong....please?
