I am having my wedding outdoor near a large lake in Michigan. The area that I come out of before the ceremony location is in view of the groom but from a large distance away. Has anyone seen or hear of a "shield" of some sort to cover up the bride until she gets closer to the end of the isle?

No grass to walk over...just some pavement, which i imagine will be fairly clean. I'm more thinking about a "revealing" where the official isle begins.

Why shield yourself. You've kept the groom from seeing you until the wedding begins. Technically the wedding starts as soon as you walk out the door into the wedding site. Your groom and guests will be anticipating seeing the detail of your gown and self, as you approach closer and closer to them.

Are you wanting it to protect your dress from the grass, etc? Or are you wanting it to hide the dress from your groom and guests until right when you hit the official aisle?

Because I have been to weddings where the bride had to do some walking to get to the aisle and it was always so much fun seeing more and more detail as she got closer.

I was at a wedding where the bride was preceeded by two little boys holding a banner that said "Here comes the bride."
It wasn't ment as a shield, but you could tweek the idea to make it work for you.

I see what youre going for, but even if you had a long folding screen to cover, just imagine how thats going to look. A big wall appearing from nowhere. It just doesnt look natural. I agree with the others who said to go without.

Do you have bridesmaids? Just have them walk in front of you and kind of hide you from view (in a descreet way.) I agree that you should not try and create a makeshift sheild or wall, it will turn out great you will see! Don't stress about it!

I agree with graciela, you're not just shielding yourself from the groom but the hundreds of people who have paid $$$$ to come see you. that's rude.
