We didn't come across too many scary costumes. When we did, my son would just grab my hand, or his dad's leg until they passed. He did get a little spooked by all the dogs that came charging to the doors. One pushed through the screen window and I could feel my son's little heart beating practically out of his chest! Poor thing. Candy makes everything better, though!

My 3 yr old was not at all scared of the kids. One homeowner however was dressed in one of those costume robes with the black face cover so you can't see their face... He didn't freak out, but he told me more than once last night he was scared of the man in the black. He knew it was a costume, but it did frighten him a bit. Other than that he had a blast!

My poor 3 year old is afraid of the weirdest things so I was very surprised when he wasn't scared of the costumes.

Yes my two year old was afraid of the any costume that was slightly scary. She didn't wanna go up to any houses to trick or treat while the scary ones were there.

Mine wouldn't wear his costume. He walked around with his eyes closed in the house as soon as I put it on...he was afraid of his own costume maybe though it was only a puppy. I had to take it off.

My 2yr old wasn't as afraid as I thought he would be, the only one that caught him off guard was a neighbor in a Jason mask..he just stopped and stared at him and wouldn't take candy from his hand.

No, my 4 year old didn't even notice the other kids. He was too busy running from house to house to get more candy!

No. I don't think kids get as scared as we think they should be unless someone purposely tries to scare them. I don't think kids are born with fear [other then falling] but society places fear on them. He was fascinated by a little boy who came up to get candy with camo all over his face. It was too cute. We had so much fun passing out candy!

Mine were fine, but if they did get scared of soemthing, they would both want to be held, and mommy get their candy. after about 2 houses that they wanted mommy to get there candy at, i said if you don't go up there you won't get any candy, and one of my girls says "that okay mommy we don't want any candy" after that I didn't have any problems with them being scared, I think they got that it was all fake, they even went through a little haunted house with a guy with a chain saw and were ok with it.

Mine (3) loved it! We didn't go out but he helped me open the door to all the Trick or Treaters, and dished out the candy to them.
