Because a lot of people like myself have way too much hair and just want that sleek straight look and want to tame it a little and the flat iron workd wonders! It also makes the hair appear longer when you straighten it and it gives women with curly and wavy hair the option to wear it straight when they want. . why have the same look everyday when you can have many? And sorry to say its not just young adults my 44 yearold Mother and 51 yearold Mother in Law use their iron everyday!

Straight hair isn't even "in" right now. Wavy hair is. Some people do it to soften the texture of their hair, some for a change of pace, I do it because my hair is neither straight nor curly, just kind of blah.

i've got on no account heard of black women persons being ashamed of donning a weave. i'm white and that i watch Tyra Banks alot, and that i wish i'd desire to placed on lots of the hair varieties she has. i does no longer hardship approximately it. My hair is wavy and curly in places. It is very hard to manage in that state. When straitened or managed into a wide organized curl I feel better not having stray unruly hairs in my mouth or face. When I look in the mirror it looks brushed. It looks messy when curly.
