My cousin is attending her first ball and she picked out a gown similar to this one. I don't know how the front looks but the back is exactly like it ands the color is gold. I have been to three balls already and pretty much have an idea of what to wear and what not to...BUT...I have mixed feelings about this dress. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

That is one hot dress. I don't see a problem. I'm sure that the Marines will love it.

It is a gorgeous dress, but I tend to think it is a bit too low cut. If her escort is an officer or working in a position where his image does matter (working in command offices, direct support, investigation) than I would strongly recommend choosing something less revealing in the front. I would definitely recommend she ask her escort for the evening his feelings on the gown. Many men would love to have thier dates in something so sexy, but just as many may not be comfortable with the attention it would focus on her from the men he works with.

I think that it is a beautiful and tasteful gown I would be honored and envied by my fellow marines if I showed up at the ball with a woman in that on my arm wearing that gown. Tell your cousin go for it .

I've been to over 20 MC balls, including 4 of my own, which I wore my blues to, but that dress is stunning. Very classy and elegant!

Formal evening wear; I would not say this is unacceptable as long as it covers all the important regions. She's very likely to be a big hit if she fills it out like the model does....

If she married, NO. If she is going with a officer, No. If she is going with a long term boyfriend, NO. Other than that, if it is just a date go ahead.
