It is far from entertaining! I often cry at the horrors of this ever increasing evil world! I often pray during and after the news broadcast.

Ignoring your assumption that yes and no answers are moronic and predictable.
I actually think we live in a sort of unreality. If we didn't how could we possibly function. As for eating whilst watching the horrors of the world, I shall leave you to do that.
I am by the way quite willing to be put in your moronic box if that's how you compartmentalise other humans.

Unless it's something directly relevant to me and mine it's mostly just a matter of curiosity. The only thing that ever made me cry on the news was the board in Thailand that all the people were pinning pictures of their missing children to.
After that I decided there was only a point to caring about things when there is a decent chance you can do something about it. Otherwise, I have enough things to cope with in my life. I'm not borrowing other people grief.

sometimes i just dont watch the news or buy a paper because it really can make me cry .....i normally go on the net and have a read as i dont want to be an ignoramus !! and if ..i do watch it i feel helpless as to what i could do to help ?..feeling like a small fish in a big big pond ...so i suppose my little imput would be to send up thoughts for all those suffering and educate my children to be empathic and non judgemental humans ??? xxxx

I do care but is it enough? I mean when somebody cares has to take some kind of action, has n't he?
So, let's don't pretend that we care just by staying in our cough and comment on what we see.
If we want a better world we must fight for it and don't be just pathetic.

I watch the news almost every night and I do care, but I also take it all with a grain of salt. The news is supposed to be there to inform the public, but it's very good at manipulating stories and showing us only the bad side of society.

I care. The news is more violent than movies. I care for the people who are suffering.
I don't drink tea. The news is not entertainment at all. it is horribly sad.

I care too much--especially if the 'horrors' relate to children.
It can potentially keep me up at night. I wish I was that 'Punisher' comic book character and could get vigilante on evil-doers. Yes, it bothers me.
