It's not a trick really. You just have to care more for the other person than yourself. Sometimes you hit a bump but that's part of life. Be able to say sorry and also to forgive. Know that no one is perfect. Realize that sacrifices aren't always a bad thing. Be willing to compromise and not always get your way. Continue to do the little things well into the relationship.

The other night I worked until 10pm. I was kinda hungry but didn't feel like making myself anything. I mentioned that a grilled cheese would be nice but I stayed on the couch, too tired to make it. Next thing I know, my husband handed me a grilled cheese. He even put tomato in it, which is my fave! Those are the things that keep me wanting him.

Do things to keep the relationship alive. Some people think the "courting's" done when they say "I do" or whatever form of commitment you make. The courting should never be over with. Even when you're old and gray you should always be doing things for each-other as if you're still trying to win her heart.
Weekly dates, flowers, funny cards, ...even simple things. Do things together that you both enjoy. This gives you something you can always talk about also. The day you stop is the day the relationship begins to die.
Hopefully she'll be doing the same for you.

theres no such thing as a perfect relationship. every relationship has its rocky moments and you need to hang on through those... not give up. the real trick to a long lasting relationship is to find someone who is worth hanging on through the hard times... true love is hard to break

a good communication is the key, but not only tell your partner, about the plumbing situation, or the kids behaving bad, is very important to tell your significant one, that wherever he did in best last night you didn't like it, enjoy it, or whatever, ( to try to change ways of doing it), a lot of women out there really cheat on their man because whenever women mainly trying to tell their man anything, this one get offended, did I give to much info or what?

i seldom ask that question....
hmmm let me think....

1.just be who you are--- so that your partner will love you as Y-O-U
coz if she cant accept the real you, then she doesnt deserve your love at all
2.and dont expect that your relationship will be perfect---there will be ups&downs in a relationship but what is impt. despite every difficulty both of you are encountering, you still manage to have each other...

As previously said a few times above COMMUNITCATION....and to know when to bite your tounge. It won't a make it a perfect one, cuz there's no such thing, but It'll help to make a long lasting one.
