in evolution you dont believe, automaticly are a god hater or a bad person?
why do so many christians take the bible as the truth ?
i know alot of jews that think the old testament is the way ancient, less advanced ppl explained things they didnt understand . to me thats a reasonable use for the bible .
ill make an example , say i lived back then, if my son died i must of made god mad at me
or my house burnt down i made god mad.
when now we know, if my son died he was sick or had a birth defect that caused him to die
my house burnt down because the stove was left on or lighting hit it and it wasnt grounded
to me thats a way i think more ppl should look at the bible

It's probably only lasted as a religious system for so long because of its insistence on setting the canon and deciding what is orthodox, and then pretty much not budging.
I agree with your views, but I think if most people held them, Christianity would mutate so much that it would either disappear or be totally unrecognizable in the space of a few generations.
I guess the insistence on tradition and literalism has helped to keep it alive and its message relatively uncorrupted for the 1500 years since all of it was "set in stone." But an unfortunate side effect is that it tends to be a religion that does not encourage its followers to ask questions or think in new ways.

'Blind Faith' is surrender. No questions asked, that could be superstitious. But this is one way leading to God by the 'Bhakti Yog'. After all, increased mental power with positive intension is Saint-hood. Truth is said to never change unlike the World.
Seeing is believing, that's the worldly law. The law of 'Cause & Effect' holds good every where. Faith makes one see and talk which others don't, just like 'Schizophrenic'. Now we have new words for those Biblical terms.

I really like this perspective because you have thought it through for quite some time now. I agree fully that elaborate tales were told in the past to help them remember and to try to explain what seemed unexplainable. A great majority of Christians seem to forget that Gameboys didn't exist 2000 years ago and that life was so primative back then that most people didn't know how to read, and many stories were dictated by mouth.

Christians should not consider someone questioning the Bible as bad. When the Holy spirit intervenes, then you know which path to persue. Answers to your questions of faith will come in time. It is human nature to not believe in something untangible. It is impossible to deny when it becomes part of your core.

I am a Christian...I am not a creationist..I DO believe in evolution. You don't have to believe in anything you don't want to..I can believe as I wish. It is a right that is guaranteed by both the governments of Canada and the USA.

Inside at core everyone is self lit and same.
On periphery the thickness of veil of ignorance differ in people.
Thicker the veil lesser is vision of truth. In that available vision one percieve the untrue as true and believe in it.
Its not the fault of that person. His/Her perception at that level is only that much.

Blind faith means they have to take the stuff in the bible as true even when common sense tells them otherwise.
