Christianity was fabricated long ago, when all of Western Civilization believed each individual's subjective mental experience was real and that the entire physical realm was assumed to be merely a fabrication of the human mind. Such archaic thinking is called Solipsism and is attributed to Aristotle. Because of Aristotle's unsubstantiated assumptions, all of Western Civilization erroneously transposed that which is actually real with that which is only imaginary. That's why, from a modern viewpoint, religion seems to be "made up." Jesus Christ, His disciples, the founders of the early Church, and the founders of the Catholic church were all Solipsists, who imagined that their own mental experiences were real and that the physical realm was a fabrication of the human mind. Solipsism dominated Western thinking for nearly two millennia. Then, about four hundred years ago, Galileo discovered that most of Aristotle's "wisdom" could be readily disproved with simple physical experiments. By the latter part of the seventeenth century, Isaac Newton's mechanics had proved beyond all doubt that the physical realm was objectively real. This also implied that subjective experience was a fabrication of the human mind. Basically, the ancients got it exactly backwards and created a civilization that loved unsubstantiated superstition and mysticism -- while wallowing in poverty and disease. Yes, religion is mostly the collected superstitions of our ancestors who imagined their own fantasies and hallucinations were actually real. Even today, since the scientific revolution, only a well-educated minority accepts that the physical realm is absolutely real and that their thoughts and perceptions are cunningly fabricated by their own living brain.

Alot of religions are made up. But so is evolution and so are the philosophies of the world. But wait for just a minute. If the God of the universe instead of expecting us to search for him - to perfect ourselves and become deity - instead came to us fulfilling all of His own expectations - that's throwing religion out the door. In that case it's no longer a search for God - He's actually searching for us. I have a relationship with the living God the Creator of the Universe. I couldn't make up something where a person revealed Himself to me - that's not religion - it's a relationship. You can call this number if you want to ask questions about what I'm refering to.

Religion is man made. It started as one person's opinion of The Divine and how they experienced it. It started as a cult and grew in popularity. Once enough believed then it became a religion. Once many believe it becomes a mainstream religion.
I don't think religion proves or discredits the possibility of The Divine, however you view it. I think religion is suppose to be a personal connection to you and whomever/whatever you view as The Divine.

Well of course but you must understand the context in which its is Thosands of years ago when there was a lack of science and knowledge to explain extrodinary events such as Hurricanes. Some someone had to come up with some reason, so they choose religion, and ****** the whole world up!

"Religion" is man made rules, rituals and regulations on how to worship God. Religion IS made up by man.
On the other hand, TRUE Christianity was started w/ Christ's life, teachings and commandments. It is not man made and is the true and right path. I would rather follow Christ than some flawed man, wouldn't you?

Religion is a man made structure in which people can contain eachother and their God. Relationship, however, is God centered and free of the restrictions and rules of religion in any particular denomination.
