like if you can't post bail . Also how long does it take unitl the court date?

If you can't post bail, or if no bail is set, then yes, you stay in jail until court. That can take months, if not a year or more.

It depends on the nature of the crime. It also depends on the individual who is being charge, if the person has a criminal history and or violations. Some case's can go before a judge within two month others can go longer. If it's your first offense and if it's a minor offense they may or may not release you. Again it depends on a variety of things including the laws in your state.

Yep, if you can't post bail you have to sit in jail until your trial. I believe in CA, you have to have your trial with in 6 weeks. However, that is usually put off so the defense can prepare their case and ends up being months later.

You can request your bond reduced. If that doesn't work you can have a family member bake you a cake with a file in it. ;)
