It's a very Russian way to drink vodka. Straight, very cold, and with a plate of pickles (best if its a big assortment including pickled garlic and onions) as a chaser. It takes a little getting used to, but its really yummy....

That would be my former mother-in-law. She did a shot of vodka and chased with a shot of dill pickle juice. She kept trying to make me have one, but I always declined.
